Was there a recent rumour that Buckley would be resigning? The report in relation to resignation.
The Age is reporting that Walsh's review is being presented to the board today, so I doubt that they'll wait another month and a half to make decisions or implement any recommendations he makes.

Exactly.Realistically the longer we wait to announce the more likely he is to stay on. Man if we waited till after finals to sack him we have lost the plot at at a footy department and board level. Talk about starting behind the 8 ball to start a search an put things into place for 2018 by waiting that long.
Maybe they got someone in mind who is participating in finals if Bucks stays announce it now
Or Dew![]()
Dew being coach worth every damn secondYou'll be waiting until after the granny for that. And if they win the whole damn thing, maybe another week on top of that for the sip to wear off...

Never heard of this site until today so take it with a bucket load of salt:

Dew and Caracella for example will be involved in finals and I believe opposition teams now respect the clubs they're at and wait for them to complete there season before engaging in serious discussion.

Yeah, in the Sporting News one further up.Was there a recent rumour that Buckley would be resigning?

Sorry these are just a bunch of retrospective observations. They are essentially meaningless and you have tried to find a significance in them that doesn't exist.Personally I believe the stats that rule them all were originally posted by me way back on page 64.
A summary of those stats:
Of the last 14 premiership coaches only 1 coach in Malthouse failed to make finals for 4 consecutive years prior to winning his first premiership (all at Footscray, top 5 in play).
The average amount of seasons of most consecutive non finals appearances pre or post 1st premiership for all 14 coaches is 2.79 seasons (top 8 not always in play)
The average amount of years it took each coach to claim 1st premiership is 4.5 years (shortest C. Scott 1st season, longest Malthouse 9 years).
*Of the 14 coaches 12 won there first premiership at the club of there original appointment.
An opinion based on the findings:
It would appear Buckley only has a 7.14% chance of now becoming a premiership coach. Miss finals next season and it's basically down to 0% as Malthouse didn't miss for a 5th year.
At 4 years Buckley is already above the average of consecutive seasons of missed finals by these premiership coaches during any part of there tenure. That figure contains some periods when a final 8 wasn't in play or when a long serving coach was at the helm of a side during periods of struggle so I see it as an accurate guide and if anything the average is probably skewed slightly higher than it could have been.
After 6 years as coach of Collingwood Buckley is 1.5 years further along than the average time frame for a coach to win there first flag. That in itself isn't reason enough for him to be removed but when coupled with the other variables it's hardly encouraging.
So basically if Ed chooses to reappoint Buckley he'll be making a decision that would appear by my reckoning not to be in the best interests of the club and provide minimal hope for a premiership.
*As an aside the alleged thought process by him that a rookie coach isn't what's best for Collingwood appears flawed logic to me given 12 out of the 14 coaches were at there first appointment when they won the flag and only 3 of them so far have won premierships at multiple clubs.
His future?"President Eddie McGuire and the Magpies board are meeting to discuss the future of coach Nathan Buckley"
What is there to discuss?? the results don't lie.
Then they should stop with the hogwash, your word, that it's 6 years, fair enough 4 years.People need to stop purporting that others want Buckley removed because we haven't won a flag in his time.
Hogwash.
It's the 4 consecutive seasons of no finals and 6 years of decline that is the problem.
The results speak for themselves and it's a bit rich that we may go down the path of holding everyone bar the senior coach responsible.

Better than a wandering star I suppose.Apparently Buckley was born under a double rainbow.
