Eddy has shown is hand.

He wants a return to the big Vic 4 leading the way.
The interstate clubs are there for the tv money and sponsorships nothing more.
I think you are naive, it's not really the AFL, it's still the VFL with a few extra teams to boost the revenue and provide early development of draftees before they become homesick for Victoria.

It's always a crisis at VFL House if the big name Melbourne clubs are struggling like this year, Collingwood, Richmond, Carlton, Essendon and maybe finally Hawthorn might slide, oh we can only hope for a finals series without all those!

Exactly, the NSW market is simply to fund Collingwood coffers which is why the NSW govt and people in general will probably abandon the AFL as a Melbourne centric exercise.

National competition has ended

GWS cherry picking stopped. Reckon Eddie's campaign will bear fruit with the GWS zone along the Murray being trimmed very soon. If GWS keep performing on field the next target will be their extra salary cap which lasts until 2019 season!

Sounds like Melbourne HQ cherry picked Marshall for Collingwood!!!

Unbelievable and now Broken Hill cannot be described as expansion zone?? OMG!!

We will know that the academies are working when young talent don't feel that they have to move to Victorian boarding schools to develop their football career.

Not to far off i would have thought ....

Further North of the Barassi line, but unheard of even 5 years ago.

The Sydney independent Sydney schools comp continues to grow, starting 4 years ago and having 31 teams last year has 42 teams playing on Saturday mornings this season and a open division this year ( year 11/12).

Most of the prestigious schools in Sydney and bastions of rugby have teams in various year groups.

This years prospectus.

Nope. Why should NSW supporters fund Melbourne?

I can easily watch the GF on TV and not spend a f... cent in Melbourne!!!

So shove that where the sun don't shine Eddie and inner Melbourne centric elite!!!
OK, if it's a serious question. Wild horses couldn't keep me away from a final, particularly a Grand Final no matter where it's played. To not do so would be disrespectful to the club I've supported since it's inception and to the players.

Broken Hill is NSW.

Love to see Broken Hill get electricity from Adelaide and follow Adelaide legislation!!
Fair chance they already do and they're on Adelaide time.

I actually have no problem with Albury and a few other border towns being cut from GWS, they have a huge area and last year all the NSW draftees were way inside the NSW border, that is what the academy was really for.

But they have taken 9 players from the draft pool.

No they haven't. In Mills' case one player was taken and all clubs with draft picks after the three draft picks were spent to pay for Mills, moved up three places.

Exactly and Melbourne elite is disrespectful to NSW country footy.

As if NSW country footy players want to play for a club like Collingwood.

**** me Paul Hawke was a slave at Collingwood as I recall!!

He would not cop such shit if he played for the NSW teams!

But all players between pick 3 and pick .... (Sydney's 1st pick) went down one spot with out being compensated.

If Sydney did not have exclusive access, Mills would be at Melbourne and Melbourne's selection could have gone to another team.

This compromises the draft.
