Until 2016 when we have a 'heritage round', commemorating Round 5 2014.The main benefit of this decision is I will own a sublimated player issue jumper and none of them will ever be made again![]()
Well a-league, nbl, t20 bbl and nrl(i think) all have and they are australian.Sanity has prevailed, the names won't be going on the jumpers. Cricket put numbers on the players because the spectators couldn't see the players names on their shirts, and they only have eleven players on the field at one time from one team. We when for the numbers in the first place, and have found that method of knowing which player is which has been successful for over 100 years.
But they have numbers and names in the NBA, NFL and MLB. But this are American sports that are not like Australian Rules Football. We don't have to do it because they have done it.
NRL doesn't. Melbourne Storm had names on the jumpers for the first two seasons, but were told to remove them. The other three are coping the higher leagues of those sports overseas.Well a-league, nbl, t20 bbl and nrl(i think) all have and they are australian.
Ok I thought NRL had names but that doesn't matter. But North were still able to have NMFC and the names so why couldn't Brisbane or Sydney do that. With the hyphenated surnames, didn't Lewis Roberts-Thompson get his name abbreviated to LRT? It is possible even with all these crazy things for certain names and teams.NRL doesn't. A problem with the names on the jumpers that they didn't say anything about is the names that don't fit on the back. There are a few hyphenated surnames now. Some non traditional surnames would be hard to fit on the back of jumpers.

That "L.R.T" is one of the most grinding things I've ever witnessed.
What about the lack of full stop at the end of T?It is like the sign for Ferntree Gully Road on Huntingdale Road which has FTG Road. If you don't have local knowledge or are a fan of the Swans you my not know what they mean.
Would that mean the Steve Silvagni would have S.O.S on his jumper.
No. Because Silvagni's name would fit on the jumper. They put LRT on Roberts-Thompson because his name was too long. Also it was his choice to put LRT on the jumper.Would that mean the Steve Silvagni would have S.O.S on his jumper.
