I'm not really into art, so don't know much on the subject but I have a few paintings at home that I want to get evaluated, Might be worth a bit as there from Douglas Pratt and a few other well known artist.

Has anyone ever sold art and know a place that will evaluate them.

THEY'RE DOGS!... AND THEY'RE PLAYING POKER!!!??!?!?!?!

Personally, I like Jackson Pollocks' stuff. Not just because it's sort of now synonymous with the Stone Roses and whole acid house baggy movement, but it's really chaos on a canvas.

Wains story is an interesting one.

*Provided it's true.

I have no doubt it is true. I know people who own Wains - he was quite the pin-up artist for up a bit there. I believe Nick Cave is an avid collector.

Not huge on art, more of an 'I like what I see that I like' than following any painter.

However da Vinci so impresses me as a brilliant human that I am drawn to his work as a painter & drawer/artist also.

Theres no doubt he was schizophrenic. Just that some of his more eccentric paintings don't match the time frame of his mental breakdown. Apparently he did a few when he was 'normal' but they weren't selling as well as his usual paintings so he shelved the idea until he went bonkers.

At least that's what I've been told.

This guy did a whole lot of amazing work.

a dude by the name of Yamasita. Considered insane, which he no doubt was, yet wandered around Japan producing some amazing art work.

Art of the Outsider I think is the term I'm searching for.

Ah, sorry, my mistake. Quite possibly.

I've got a book on Wain somewhere... who knows freakin' where.

I know a lot about art, but have no idea of what I like.

My suggestion to the OP would be to hold the painting close to his keyboard, and I'll try to decipher the signature.

If you stand back from Blue Poles the thing that strikes you is order more than chaos - it has captured the energy of the action painting process

I love German Expressionism, the Futurists and the New Objectivists of Weimar Germany

Is Jason Pollock an artist? Just a guy who splashed paint on a canvas.

Picasso was more of an artist at 8, but gradually went down hill as he got older.

The Futurists and the graphic design implementation into Constructivism are probably my favourite art 'movements'.

Only wish a few Futurist buildings were built.

Could have done without the futurism literature movement but.

Regardless neck face is not, i repeat, not an artist nor remotely talented.

He is the basquiat of the 2000's his work is nothing more than a fashion status for the cool hip young urban white kids from suburbia.
