i just dont get how any of that stuff is meant to help. how do all these picks help keep those two melbourne kids they're about to draft there? what is meant to attract a genuine, culture changing player, and players to follow?

having gun kids or a couple of years and supplementing them with cast offs other sides dont want will just have them continue treading water for years to come.

It's getting harder and harder to stay interested in the AFL when each off-season they just create whatever changes they feel like.
Pre-Bolton sacking you could definitely argue we'd been worse for just as long and I don't think these sort of concessions were ever likely to come our way. We won 1 less game with a worse % last season and got a watered down version of that. Rules for some is the AFL way & commercially it does make sense because they know a club with 100+ years history will have enough suckers who will still tune in and spend $$$ on the club/sport whereas the competition can't afford weak sides in NSW and QLD for long periods

This is just the AFL’s last roll of the dice to try and make the Gold Coast work. Which it won’t.

And if it doesn’t work? Relocate the club somewhere else? Tasmania? That might be worse than being in Gold Coast.

Northern Suns, split the games between Darwin, Cairns and GC.
They don't really need to change much to make that happen in it's current format.

A struggling Vic club will sell them an extra home game for Darwin/Cairns and then play 8 on the GC with 2 games in Cairns and Darwin

This pic says everything that needs to be said about the Suns. They can’t compete with the lure of success at bigger clubs.

2 toddlers with autism would be very difficult to handle alone, especially in such a remote town on the other side of the country from your family.

From what I’ve read Geelong haven’t provided them with the necessary support; having said that it can be hard to define what the right support is in their situation. Nothing ever really can replace or be the equivalent of your family, friends and home town.

Would expect Freo to go hard for him too, despite nominating West Coast. Even if it means the Eagles have to stump up more to meet Geelong’s demands.
