Pies barrackers deserve a share in the glory after Saturday's game. We yelled and clapped and sang and whistled from the first bounce, and must have contributed to the win by raising the team's spirits.

When Dale scored his running goal we counted every bounce.
We booooooed whenever a Pie was tackled.
We cheeeered whenever a Pie laid a tackle.
When WCE started scoring we drowned out their cheer squad with the Collingwood song.
When O'Bree went off injured we stood up and applauded.

That's the way to do it - every week.:thumbsu:

A special tribute to the barracking warrior in M53 -M54 with the black jacket and hair. He unselfconsciously led the vocal onslaught every time, and everyone around caught his enthusiasm.

you mean the collingwood chants in the last?

that was me and my brother:o

we were having a lot of fun there in the last

No, this was an older man - in his 30s, and he was wired from the outset.
He had a very interesting profile - a handsome, strong nose (for the purposes of identification).:p

So Opti is neither handsome OR strong and I (being over 30) am to be considered old?? Sheesh you're so mean to your fellow pie folk! ;)

You need those as a Pies supporters, as they have a tendency to get broken otherwise :)

Wish I was sitting there on Sat'day. I had a couple of morons sitting next to us who had all snuck in on the one social club ticket (passing it through the gates, etc.) The sort that giggle like 5yos when the WCE supporters were leaving (grace in victory is just as important as in defeat). And he smelt. Bah.

Glad to hear you were all whipped into a frenzy. It was pretty infectious!

Go back and scan my sentences for meaning DW! I said nothing of the sort. Opti is a fine looking lad with a lovely complexion. To quote Deirdre of the Sorrows, he has; "raven-black hair. His skin is snow white, with cheeks red like the rose....."

The champion barracker was of a swarthy complexion. He looked like a pirate. Over 30? Sure you're only a boy. I'm much older than that. Older than the Hag of Beare. But footy is keeping me sprightly.:D

Yeah i read the true intent in your post but often what's not said (and thus made up by myself) is far more interesting. And if not, as is likely the case, it gives me another opportunity to give you unnecessary grief. :D BTW, I saw a typo in one of your previous posts and I didn't say anything (unless "Collinwood" is how we, the toothless masses, pronounce our team!! I'm so mature!

I'm the resident fabulist on this board, thank you.

I was clearly referring to the distinguished barracker, Collin Wood. And yes, he spells his name with 2 "Ls". Don't mention teeth. Was at dentist yesterday.:(

Is there no danger that their recent humiliations will spur them on to great things? I mean, when you've got nothing, you've got nothing to lose.

Going by the broadcast - the loudest cheer was when the Eagle missed the shot on goal after the siren - giving the Magpies a 100 point win!

I was standing more or less behind that kick. When we saw it wavour off course the entire AFL members area went off. It was good. The West Coast supporters sitting near us snuck out while all of us were jumping up and down screaming.

Was it just my block, or was that some really loud booing before that kick?

Some West Coaster decided to start on level 4 before the first bounce but lasted about 10 minutes into the first half, neverheard a squeak after that. I didn't even bother to boo WC until the final shot. Good effort, WC mate from Perth tried to whinge that we weren't barracking enough and at 3/4 time said we had nothing unless we won by 100 or more.

?? Everything have to be R rated with you?? :D Use at will!

Reconsider my request from the female perspective and you'll see that there was no smut intended. It was hardly Buddy Franklin at CQ. My connotations were all literary. If my meaning was not instantly clear - did I give you too much credit? - I refer you to the book, or to one of the many related films.

If there were a po-faced emoticon, I'd insert it here.

was at the mcg for the first time on saturday, from south of perth, and would like to thank all you magpie supporters for a fantastic day.wasn't too happy about the result, but you guys created an atmosphere in that place that i will remember forever.would love to experience the same thing at a full mcg one day.maybe a magpie/eagle grand final could happen in the next few years.
once again thanks for a wonderful experience.

we all cheered when the siren went realised the score and what a goal would do, and the a boo of monumental proportions went up and staker missed a relatively easy set short which was met with collingwood goal like cheer rofl.

Was a good 19th man effort by the fans

You seem to have found the secret of true happiness, Hendo. Glad you had such a great time. I suppose we take the MCG and what comes with it for granted sometimes. It's a magnificent venue, and when the crowd's rocking, it's better than morphine.:thumbsu:

it wasn't just the atmosphere,it was the venue, also went to the telstra dome on saturday night, and i hope all you guys in melbourne appreciate what great facilities you have.
have been going to subiaco for years, and the sooner the new stadium is built ,the better.
one more thing, you guys created a better atmosphere in a half full mcg, than the cats and blues fans had in a virtually full dome, thanks again,am already planning my next trip over.

:D I went to the Dome game after ours aswell. Sat level 3 behind the Carlton cheersquad. Bloody boring game.:p

I got so many evil glares and a couple of people telling me I was at the wrong stadium......
