:) Happened to turn on to SEN on Sunday morning and heard a Bitchmond Muppet rabbiting on about how good Cotchin was after a couple of good efforts on Saturday night and how much better he was and would be than the Big "K".

Was gloating that we cocked up by not taking Cotchin at No.1. Now Cotchin is going to be a very good player, but I wonder if this Muppet/D*ckhead has got his foot out of his mouth yet after Kruezer's performance yesterday.

What an absolute gun he is becoming. Can anyone tell me another Ruckman that has done what the Big "K" has done in his first year in a bottom side. The Guy is an absolute freak. Just watch how he goes in a couple of years and watch what happens with Judd, Stevens, Murphy and Gibbs.

Bitchmond can have Cotchin, but give me The Big "K" anytime. I will say again to that Bitchmond Muppet - get your foot out of your mouth and have a real good look at the champion ruckman for the next 10 years. Dean Cox move over!.

The Giant is starting to stir.:):)

Cotchin's good. His dinky, over-cautious short kicks have been getting the TV commentators very excited, but his 2 turn-overs resulting in goals V Lions, and his inability to kick over long distance like Gibbs, hasn't attracted the media focus just yet. He'll be a good player no doubt, but much of the talk-up is motivated by anti-Carlton sentiment. Kruezer is going to be a lot lot better. :)

By the way how many goals has he scored this year without kicking a point? And how quick is he for a big man? I would say he is prolly the quickest big man in the comp right now? And don't you love his footy smarts and his second and third efforts?

His 2nd and 3rd efforts at stoppages after he competes in the ruck are amazing and which what has him as the most exciting young ruck in the comp.

Oh, and the ability to chip in and kick goals as well is great.

What the Ninthmond supporters tend to forget is that midfielders always come to hand quicker than big men, yet Kreuzer is doing what he is doing now - scary what to think we'll have on our hands in 4-5 years time!

Give me Kreuzer and Gibbs any day of the week over Leunberger and Cotchin.

We all knew that Kreuzer would take longer to look the goods than Cotchin. It is the way of things. He's in a FAR more physical role, and he needs 2-3 years in the strong room to be able to compete properly there.

That said, Kreuzer's efforts this year have been nothing short of spectacular. That he's contributing ANYTHING as a teenage ruckman is impressive. That he's had several multi-goal games and been a key component of some big wins is way above reasonable expectations.

Both will be very very good. I'm happy with our choice.

was impressed in the 3rd he got the ball to judd and ran with him for the entire wing

i still cant believe all this weight of expectation on his shoulders at the moment

Cotchin and Kreuze are 2 different players..........cant compare and both will be great talents for there team

thats what they are at the moment....talent!

If the NAB rising star voters actually had a clue he should win it.

Its not that hard for first year mids to come in and play well, especially iin a strong midfield.

It is very hard for a first year ruckman to come in and do well.

His first year has been every bit as impressive as Cotchin, Palmer and Rioli's simply due tot he position he is playing.

He shouldn't have any impact, but he does.

Agree that commetators are blinded by accurate short kicks to forwards.......20+ possession games etc........but give me 5 tap ons 6 shepherds.......and 8 blocks to free up Judd and Stevo any day.

Agree.

How good was the Kreuzer tap to Murphy, then running forward for the receive and slotting the goal. Don't see that everyday from a 200cm ruckman. :thumbsu:

Geez i hate KB. Biggest Co*khead ever. The amount of times i have called SEN and abused him is starting to get boring now... Might do it 1 last time when Richmond finishes 9th on the ladder LOL.

That tap to space inside 50 then the follow up for the goal is something not many AFL ruckman, who've been playing many years, actually do.

this entire topic is a joke

if richmond had the first pick they would have taken kruez, and we would have taken cotchin.

fancy richmond supporters complementing themselves on their smarts when all they did was to take the next best player, as we would have done in their situation.

cotchin was always going to be great, as will kruez.

build a bridge and move on

Its pretty clear we made the right call in picking Kreuzer.

I forget which commentator it was, but one of them at some stage on the weekend said he's the most likely player to develop into the next Dean Cox. That's worth a fair bit more than a good midfielder. In practical terms, he's like a very good 200cm ruck rover who can do the tap work as a bonus.

And i love it how he is a goal-kicker. Players either have the calm nerve (Judd) or they don't (Fisher), and young Kreuze does.

We need Kruzer a lot more than we needed Cotchin considering we already have one of the best midfields in the comp only in need of a quality ruck . An obviously good decision by the Blues recruiters . :thumbsu:

Think it was Healy.

Is it just me or is he a Carlton supporter? (I know he played for Melbourne and Sydney, but he always seems so supportive of Carlton when he commentates).

I reckon you're right (that it was Healy).

Whether he's a closet blues man or not, he definitely seems to be one of the most objective commentators, and i agree that he seems to get a bit swept up in the navy blue momentum when we get on a roll. I suspect he's a bit of a footy purist and likes the flowing, attacking style of footy we play and just gets all enthusiastic when we're on fire.

Healy is a Blues fan he has been for years ever since he has been in the comm box. I can remember years ago when he first started commentating that he always had good things to say about the Blues.

3 Kicks = 3 goals..........couldnt have asked for anything better!

Geez he was good yesterday. Just so composed, like Gibbs and Murphy, for someone so young. His 3 goals yesterday were crackers, and he can seriously play.

He called the 99 PF Kouta Rampage early. Sensible.

I am no Kreuzer knocker - Gilly can attest to that, so that isn't the angle I'm taking. In fact, I came into this thread because I'm a big fan of him and wanted to read how excited Carlton fans are over the big fella.

But the bolded quote is quite literally the dumbest and most uninformed comment I have ever read on Big Footy. Cotchin's opposite foot is better than most of the AFL's preferred foot and that is no exaggeration. You have no right of reply because you have already proven yourself far too inadequate to discuss the issue.

He is indeed flying under the radar, I guess so many people get caught up with mids racking up high possessions, running etc they don't notice what this 18 yr old ruckman is actually doing in his first year. What he is doing at the moment is truly remarkable, I'm very excited about him (that "Kreuzer is a dud" or w/e it was called thread was one of the worse trolling jokes I've seen...)

Cotchin is great and all, but no doubt whatsoever that Kreuz was the absolute best choice for us. Cotchin would have been a mistake with the amount of mids we already have and he looks like a great prospect for the Tiges.

Win/win situation for us and Richmond.
