All good and well to drag them over hot coals and let them know what they have done wrong, but mentioning that they were so far behind were Tess & Luke were at the same time was completely unnecessary and downright harsh IMO.

And for him to walk out in the manner in he did was pretty appalling.

I'd be OK with S&A spending what's needed (bare minimum) to finish their house, but any amount over the budget at the end should be added to their reserve on auction day to remove any advantage they had in having a bigger budget. But watching that promo, the problem will surface that a lot of the work done in house 3 is shoddy and will need to be redone. This couple is a disaster and could possibly be the last time we see a couple with no building/reno experience on the show.

How come a guest bedroom last week (the rooms judged tonight) got a $15,000 budget, and the guest bedroom next week only gets $13,000? That seemed odd to me.

Of the rooms judged tonight, I liked Sharon & Ankur's the best.

What was O&O thinking with that TV room? At least make it versatile so it could be turned into a bedroom if needed. Showing they're not as clever as they think they are. I would never buy that house if I had the money to afford such real estate.

Pretty sure Scotty has gone hard on them, due to them badmouthing everyone on the show. Dipshits, you’re on camera and micd up constantly, shit talk the show isn’t going to do you any favours. But nevertheless, **** them. She is delusional, saying that due to their lack of trade/construction knowledge, the only thing they were capable of doing was demo, cleaning up rubbish and painting. Hey idiot, you didn’t do the demo and cleaning up, that’s why your budget got blown to shit and you constantly ran out of time. In her head, they did all that though.

The other thing I don’t like, is this constant talk from Scotty, Keith and Dan, of bargaining down prices on your trades. **** that, Nine is making squillions off the show, the contestants will all win life changing amounts, why should the trades be the one to work for less than they can otherwise get? And work worse conditions than they would otherwise deal with, that’s poor form.

So much for only one trade in their guest room, only to hang the plaster. At one stage there were 10 tradies in that room trying to get it done, and they went over budget again! ($13K)

I guess all the finger pointing and Scotty throwing a tantrum is all for show and drama.

I wouldn’t be blaming Sharon and Ankur for the dodgy work either. Not their fault the roof is full of water and all the plaster has to come down. That’s what you get with the shonky “tradies” on HiPages.

This is what I hate about the show now, the expectation from all contestants that everyone will make hundreds of thousands. The $100k winner prize basically became a second though, as everyone was cleaning up.

What other show is there, where everyone wins large? Go on Survivor, spend a month eating monkey shit and walk away with nothing.

That’s why there was a $100k prize, to ensure there was a “winner”, that would walk away with a decent sum. For the rest of you, no soup.

In the Glasshouse season (2014), Darren & Deanne Jolly and Michael & Carlene made only $10,000 over the reserve. While Karstan & Maxine made $40,000 over the reserve. The season winners (Shannon & Simon) made $335,000 over the reserve and the 100G prize money.

Season 4 was a long time ago. But they didn't sell for very much, I agree, and two didn't sell until after the auction.
