I’ve often thought that if I went on, I’d just do the bones of the house, no furniture or styling etc. Then use the left over cash to buy gold bullion that gets sold with the house. Would probably end up being a more attractive purchase for some of these buyers.

Darren: The picture frame is solid gold and there is a bar of gold on the milkcrate bed side table it's very bold, I like.
Shayna: It seems pretty bare, I hate it.
Neale: Yeah this does nothing for me.
Darren: After hearing your thoughts I hate it now too.

Scores
Darren: 9 out of 10
Shayna: 8 1/2 out of 10
Neale: 8 1/2 out of 10

I'd do the block

But would have to have a solid plan to maximise opportunities far better than the contestants that generally get on
Reading about what Steph and Gian did, that's definitely what they did.

As opposed to the nimrods in H3 who never saw an episode of the show..

Neale: where's the lamp?
Shayna: room needs more cushions and what about the ****en storage?!?!?!
ALL: I ****en hate it

Judging: gets 7/10

Darren: The walls are decorated with Stock Certificates for Blue Chip Stocks, that's going to help with potential buyers.
Shayna: I don't like the colour choice and the frames look cheap.
Neale: Yes the cheap frames really ruin this whole room.
Darren: You're right this is terrible.

Isnt that the same thing?

$65k/2/12= $2,708 per week that times 52 is $140k (in which case you can work it back)

Im actually genuinely asking this cause im terrible at math
That's after tax amounts as their winnings are tax free right? If they're clearing $65k combined in 12 weeks they'll be fine. She also said didn't cover half their wages, so talking $280k after tax per year combined. Think they'll be ok if thats the case lol

I dont know about the tax but i assume any income would be assessed as part of their next tax return.

Ive adressed the half their wages comment, im calling it 99% bullshit unless they have other income.

The “profit” they take home from a game show is tax free. Unless you do it regularly and it becomes part of your regular income, it’s a windfall and remains tax free.

It was probably just a throwaway comment upset that they didn't make over $1m like the first 2. Think she'd be on a decent wicket though as Senior PM of whatever she does. Don't know what the bloke does.

He definitely has a background in trades. Can do tiling and stuff.

I think she was actually listed as a Pm (and trust me if she was a senior she would have said it) he was a safety inspector or advisor.

Both are in my broad realm and I did the maths, I’d say the likely broke even OR made a small profit in their salaries (unless they have some other income stream).

Either way it’s a bit secondary to my point, they would have been expecting big money off the result of the first two auctions and understandably so.

I swear someone said he was a plumber but I think he know is a safety inspector so likely wouldn’t be registered etc. to do waterproofing and the like. Might also be a rule against doing your own service trades (especially stuff with compliance)

Brett was a tiler, now he works a power plant as a safety inspector like his hero Homer.

Absolutely no rule against this. As long as you're signed in/done the safety briefing + certified, you are good to go.

Are you sure? I’m not talking about fitout stuff in talking gas, elec, water etc. I’d imagine they (the block) would have set people certified and signing off on that

Im saying whatever you are qualified to do you can do it.
I dont watch the show enough to know but that would be pretty surpising. Liability, indemnity etc etc. would all have to be commercial grade, even if these guys are self employed they almost certainly wouldnt have it.
