If anyone thinks McGovern deserves a spot in front of SoS, they know nothing about football.
The true navy blue supporter will suffer most........again.
We won’t know what we had until it’s gone.

Ps. I’m getting depressed about my club again. Need to get out of isolation ffs.
I feel same way about JSOS being behind Plowman in the pecking order.

Replace Jack with what we've had Kennedy doing and he'd light up games, though I'd prefer to see more genuine 2-way running from him.

The issue is balancing him with Cripps and Setterfield at the stoppages (particularly the centre bounce), and that problem only gets worse as we introduce Kemp and if Stocker actually hits his straps.

I think he's the next Josh Kennedy (Sydney) story if we trade him.

100% agree. If he goes at the end of the year he will emerge elsewhere as a contested midfielder and carve out a very good career imo.

Must keep, must play in the midfield.

I like JSOS’ attitude and work rate but I’d be shocked if he ever became an A grade midfielder.
Lacks the size, speed and contested game.
We have so many A Graders at our club.😜Maybe one.
Give me JSOS ahead of Betts McGovern Gibbons Fisher Cunningham Newnes Newman Kennedy Williamson Moore.
And going forward Ed Curnow and Murphy (The end is near!)
Lacks size 193cm,Contested game is one of his strengths, Speed not super quick but not slow

Ferris was it by chance, or did you choose to peruse the news before being bemused and confused by the ruse the Blues could lose Krooz, and with no game in the twos it's enough to hit the booze...
Ouzzzzzzz
O?

Did a comparison of their careers when we first looked at trading for Brackets. They were almost identical except JSOS was four years younger at the same stage.

Imagine how good JSOS could be in four years time, when he reaches the same age Brackets is now. Will also hopefully have played about 80 more games.

Very different players however, can't really compare

McGovern's ability to flex between a pressure role, a link-up role and being a target out of a square, due to his sheer athleticism and read, are what set him apart.

Not far enough apart that I'm satisfied in what we traded for him, but he is the better choice as a general forward, across the board.

What pressure does McGovern put on? Wouldn’t say it’s one of his strengths. More like his weakness. Not blaming him solely but we are the number team scored against out of our forward 50. Very little pressure from any of our forwards. We miss JSOS pressure up forward even though I think he is a midfielder.

In terms of the pressure he's able to supply for his size (191 and 90)? I'd describe his ability to maintain an effort up the field is elite, though he wouldn't be setting records for repeat efforts.

If we trade him, I hope so.

Hawthorn went on to win 4 flags over the next 15 years.

Jimmae I see JSOS repeat efforts as one of his strengths. Repeat speed could be questioned. Watch live he has plenty of second and third efforts that I don’t see McGovern give. Just an opinion and observation.

I was hoping they'd all be professional enough to resolve it.

resolve what exactly - that your father was sacked by a bunch of interlopers and accused of forcing the CLub to play Jack? Sprayed teh words conflict of interst all over the press - as a thanks for all your hard work SOS ? Really what world do you live in Stamos?

how does Jack resolve all that - since it was the Carlton 'CEO' as some like to call him - that said all that - on behalf of the whole football department no less?

Enjoy the memberships Carlton.

Harsh but fair. I will never forgive Liddle for the treatment of SOS. It will become apparent soon just how good a job he did.

On the flip side, I will concede the bloke to be a very capable operator. That recent effort in the media was a testament to his grasp of the entire
runnings and situation of the club. We are in good hands despite my disdain for some very ordinary treatment of a legend who was doing a great job.
SOS had forecast a departure 12 months later and was entitled to go out on his terms, despite egos clashing among the big dogs.

Providing he doesn't dictate, I have no great issue with him sitting in on list management issues. He has an all encompassing role, and if he has the
want and energy there is no drama with him being involved. He just needs to show respect to the other players. For the record, I was astounded at the
recent make up of the list management team. Too many senior roles SOS, Lloyd, Agresta and Brodie all "managers" was too big a list, particularly
given that the hardest part of the list rebuild had been done.

what did you think might happen?

What's happened? Nothing has happened yet.

If JSilvagni wants to leave because of what happened to his father....good luck.
He's contracted for another year and there's unlikely to be suitors lining up for him, so what to do?

BSilvagni will likely be shown the door anyway.
Is there one team that would genuinely be interested?

Let's not play this it as though we may be losing Walsh and Weitering.

Terrible post.

You don't understand the meaning of common words in the English language - like 'might'.

and then go on to write some extrapolated dribble based on your own lack of understanding of basic words.

There would be interest in both
