do you not read what people actually write or are you too comprehension disadvantaged?

The current executive at the Club announced to the world that SOS had a demonstrated and perceived conflict of interest regarding his sons and that this supposed conflict of interest made it difficult for these appointed interlopers to do their job - specifically referencing MC meetings.

The inference and only inference being that Jack did not deserve being played and in fact, his being played was forced on these people by the power of SOS's conflict interventions.

So in the eyes of these interlopers - Jack was not fit to play AFL for Carlton.
Well no that's the inference you've reached, not the only inference that can be made. Opinion presented as fact though is not something I wish to debate.

Well no what?
Please give me a range of inferences you refer to - I live to learn.
Otherwise, go back to cuddling your Cain Liddle dolly and spare me your chest puffing.

So far as learning, I'd suggest you read your last sentence and consider what engagement you expect would follow.

Yes there were a range of possible inferences.

Inference 1: There was an actual conflict between the club's interest and SOS's family interest, and the club was suffering / being put second (e.g. Jack was being picked when he shouldn't have been).

Inference 2: There was an actual conflict between the club's interest and SOS's family interest, and SOS's family was suffering / being put second (e.g. family tensions as a result of the conflict were having a detrimental impact on SOS and/or Jack).

Inference 3: There was the potential for either of these to occur but they hadn't yet.

Inference 4: There was a perception elsewhere in the club or externally that either of these had occurred but they hadn't yet.

Personally I thought a combination of #3 and #4 seemed the most likely interpretation, i.e. the club was getting ahead of a potential problem and managing an unfortunate perception before it became a real problem.

Potential and Perception ...

What a rubbish post on so many levels not worth my time thinking about - except to laugh out loud.

This really bemuses me...

People talk about building, having, not having, strong culture and staggeringly, win/loss culture, yet are quick to possibly destroy the very fabric great culture is built upon

This young group, amassed over a short period has endured and now seems to be coming out the other end, only for some/many people willing to fracture it, with what they see, not only as a better option, but a willingness to discard, due to continued impatience, rather than what is best for the group as a whole

Even if every single young player comes on, our older and or break glass players will be long gone

As for the likes of Murphy and or other senior players, we won't be enduring these types for several years, they will be gone, over the next 3

We have enough assets to target needs, in the way of picks, without fracturing the foundations

Thank You. :clapping:

The conflict of interest wasn't the thing that lit the fuse on the whole sorry SOS saga.

The problems were recognised early last year and apparently (from my understanding) had a lot to do with the way he interacted with others.
I don't think there are too many cleanskins throughout the whole thing and if one has to find an entity to point the finger at....take your pick, but..

So arrogance doesn’t usually lend itself to working in a team cohesively.

Side note you’re being really aggressive in this thread and I’m not here for it, so if you’re just gonna keep snapping at me I’m gonna disengage. ✌

Fight back. He'll break when his subjective narrative falls apart and we'll see someone left twiddling their lips :)

There are so many elements involved in this saga and somehow we can all take it down a path that suits our own perspective.

In my case, I can only see that the whole thing wasn't handled properly an if that's the case, who really has the most blood on their hands?

My business is full of arrogant people - I like arrogant people arrogance is underrated - and I'm not fooled by passive-aggressive behavior either.

JAB you're not in that industry while posting here. Tone it down please.

SOS was the public face of our list management and the strategy used, why would he not have more say than anyone else?

Beggars belief that arrogance would be a reason to let him go given the very good job he was doing. Entitled to be happy with his strategy and firm in his commitment to it, after all if he took advice from everyone with an opinion he would be no more effective than Justin Reid.

We gave him a very difficult task then tear him down for doing it better than just about anyone could have reasonably expected. Then publicly blame his kids ... classy

I didn’t say it was a reason to let him go and I definitely don’t agree with the club blaming his kids. The way it was handled was a mess but I feel like it was probably a clash of egos and the club kept the person they felt was more valuable.

He is bloody Italian.... what do you expect?

Being Italian ... can confirm. 😂😂😂 whilst I’m not I know PLENTY who are. Especially the f****n relos that come here from there “for holidays” who I’ve never met in my life and wanna whinge that “it’s better at home” 😂😂😂 needless to say my comments back to them won’t leave me in their wills...

BUT in most good/great sportspeople there is a level of either arrogance or “confidence” which is why they are where they are.

When we needed players across all lines he could have total control. But after 5 year the coaching staff need to be involved in identifying what is missing in the side with how they want the team to play.

While I generally like what SOS did he did make some terrible decisions with rookie picks/Recycled players
