Already put in for an RDO on Friday, I'm preparing to get blind should it get ugly.

Sensible approach.
Perhaps bubble rap the telly as well

I don't think it will get ugly.

I can't see us beating the tigers by more than 4-5 goals...

I still prefer Cripps starting in the middle and drifting forward which can create a defensive structure issue for the opposition. Kind of what Dusty does, compete at the centre bounce and immediately move forward. Cripps will bring a midfield opponent with him and then they have to make the call of swapping one of their talls to him or letting him be.

If we’ve already got two or three of Harry/Levi/Mitch/Pitto/TDK/Jack in the forward line that becomes a really hard decision to make on the run. It’s a bit easier if we’ve only got the one or two talls down there, their 2nd or 3rd tall probably makes the call to go to Cripps, although that could provide opportunities for someone like Jack in the transition phase where he’s left alone or with a height advantage.

I/we have little idea how Teague would prefer to set up his forward line - since he has hardly ever had all of Mitch/Levi and Harry available. Last year he played Pitto and TDK as well. So yeah if all these talls are available Cripps probably stays on ball and floats forward with play to be a target- otherwise he does what he usually does and floats to a wingish position to be an intercept - in defensive situation he is often the preferred target on the rebound kick.

My post was just a different opinion - specifically referencing the quoted posters commnetary about where he should be played if he does go forward and why. I still think that as the midfield develops Cripps will feature as a more as a marking target - he is a very good mark.

If all else fails, the 15m zone and the man on the mark means that we could have Gov or Kennedy - or Saad or Martin or Fish or Newnes - floating around wherever Cripps takes a mark in range and to get the handpass and have a ping themselves.

Could be the way around his poor conversion.

If you can (nd can be bothered) - have a close look at the mark SOJ took in front of goal in goal square against Aints- and who was right behind him ready for the easier take;) I got the feeling that all the time Cripps was spending in forward lines wasn't an accident on the praccy games...

operation what ever you don’t kick it Cripps.

Just putting this here - if anyone is interested, I have a Supercoach league going for Carlton Bigfooty members only.
I can't be stuffed organising more than 1 at the last minute, and there is no 'levels' - just the single league.
I'm pretty average but happy to have a crack against the pro's as it makes it more interesting.

Anyway - PM me if you want to join and I'll give you the league code. If you pass it on to anyone else, please restrict it o BF Carlton members.
First in best dressed until full!

Meh, it's not just RoCo. Only 1 out of 17 other clubs' captains think we will make the 8 this year.

We have been rebuilding and slowly improving for a long time. At some point it will click (hopefully) and we will make a leap. Hardly anybody in football ever sees the leap coming. Of course once you do, then everyone claims they saw it coming.

We've been down for so long, I think it's fair to doubt us until we prove otherwise.

I think this year is our year of big improvement. Not many people outside the club see it. But like I GAF what others think.

Agree. I look at our trajectory similar to 76ers, they're now sitting pretty on top of the NBA Eastern conference after 2 years of earlyish exits in finals and a complete rebuild of 4 years before that. Embiid and Simmons had injury plagued starts to their career but are now in MVP and defensive player of the year contention.

I see our next leap predicated on making finals and finding out a lot about themselves there. Can't wait.

EDIT: It appears I cant view my private messages and conversations (unless this is a paid feature - it never used to be?) so I'll just leave the code here for anyone interested in the SC Classic - only 10 spots Kick it Long (538020)
