Pretty sure Kouta would make us better.

Kouta would make any team better. So would Sticks, Judd, SOS, Diesel and 100+ other Carlton champs.

A better question IMO is which historical Carlton player would do more for modern-day Carlton than other teams.... The answer to that probably answers what we need to fix with recruiting and gameplan.

Dominator …

That’s a fun thought one player from Carlton’s history to insert into the current team who do you choose?
Craig Bradley please.

Damn you and your thoughtful off season questions! My brain hurts. :p

I see he is back doing DWTS again - I've personally organized studio audience tickets for the entire 1999 * list for an encore performance from 18/9/1999.

The answer in some ways would probably be John Nichols. Clearly he would be undersized these days etc etc. However the influence he had on games just with his steely resolve and the aura about him was unbelievable. I guess if you had to compare him with todays players it would be the rucking ability of Max Gawn combined with the hurting ability of Big Mummy. If you could transplant him and update his size etc to the current day he would make us a five goal better team. He would improve our team more than every other team because he was big Nick and he didn't (and wouldn't) play for anyone but Carlton.

Yes, agree. That's probably our biggest gap on the rest of the comp. Harry Madden for similar reasons as above. No need for a height adjustment.

I don't understand...

Mick Martyn retired in 2002 after 287 games for North and never played again.....

Denial is not a river in Africa...

Diesel every day off the week and twice in Sundays. All time Elite disposal by hand and foot, H and Prince Charles would lick their chops every time he delivered into the fwd line. They'd kick 100 goals each.

This tweet was sponsored by Claytons: The statement you make when you really don't want to make a statement.

I am not sure I want to start up an Australia Day debate here, but the statement reminds me of the club's position amid the marriage equality movement.

Carlton is clearly being deliberately cautious with its language in order to stay as neutral as possible. I don't agree with it, but I can understand why the club might do so. We seem to be at odds with most other clubs. I wonder who is driving our approach.

Maybe the club is in sponsorship discussions with Switzerland...?

I can't fathom why they made that statement. Football teams are not compelled to make social media posts for every holiday on the calendar, and clearly they were sh1t scared of offending anyone, so why bother? Ignore it, rather than come across as completely spineless.

I something wonder if this club is capable of performing the most basic tasks without tripping over it's shoelaces.
