Who is going to want Scotland and Carrazo? Two soft outside players who have no skill. And if we did find a sucker they wouldnt be stupid enough to give us much.

Who would want two mids who find quite a lot of the ball and dispose of it better than most? I can think of many teams.

I would dangle Stevens and Scotland as well we need to make harsh decisions. We have too many receivers and when soft Holla comes back that will be one more outside receiver.

Well there are suckers born every few minutes, what I was stating was that we prolly wouldn't get high high draft picks or anything like that but at least we can upgrade our draft position with a few good deals. And how many soft outside players do we want at Carlton? Another question how many of our so called leaders make a stand when the chips are down? The Cats game was a good example of the kids trying hard and Judd leading while the rest were floating around the back getting easy disposal and not hurting the opposition with them.

i don't see any of these propsoed trades helping the club much in the short or longer term. Of those mentioned i would be prepared to trade Fish as he misses to many important shots for goal.

Just wait for Bryce Gibbs to be played on the ball and for Kreuzer ot get a few years under his belt then we will be going places. Also it's only Murphy's third year. Cooney is in his 5th year and only this year has he been seen as a legitimate brownlow medal contender.

I 100% agree with you,

with the exception of fisher. we have no depth there what so ever, and if he was played in the f50 then he will look a lot better. great hands, ok kick, good 3rd forward.

i would be happy to lose one of waite or thornton, to lure a big forward option to princes park, like mickinley or thorp or someone thats decent.

Great idea birdbrain !!!! We can really afford to lose two more players out of an already undermanned back six !!! Have a bit of a think about it, who is going to play down back once we trade Waite and Thornton ????

Agree with your points RE Stevens, don't agree with trading him though. If we trade, we at least want to get something of worth in return. The only players on our list that I think we could get something of value, and are worth considering are Fish and Simpson.

Fish is too important to us however so he's out. We have no option but to persist I believe.

Simpson however has trade value, beyond this year though, that may dissapear. Don't get me worng, I love Simpson, however he has not had the best year, and can go missing or make stupid mistakes. Other teams see he is under-rated, so I think he is one player we should seriously consider. He won't be missed in the midfield, and he is not needed as a runner down back. Thoughts?

I would add Thornton. He can't play role of key defender and isn't fast enough to run through the lines. WE have developed Jammo, Bower, Setanta and WAite into good defenders to we don't really need him. Like Carazzo and Scotland, most possessions are easy receives and squaring the ball

thornton has been bloody good this year and if watched any of carlon games over the last 5 years, then you'll se what a great player he has been and is only 24ish
just coz we have 3 key defenders without him doesnt mean we dont need him
he is still our best and what happens when injuries hit?

i would try and get something for carrazzo, hes been rubbish this year

try and trade ackland.. yes thats right some pathetic team might want him (hes been at 3 bloody clubs!!!) lol but no one will want him so yeh..

Seeing as though you highlighted "Simpson has trade value" in my post, and followed id by saying "u bloody serious", I can only assume you disagree. Yes Simpson has trade value...why don't you think he has?

See two can play at that game, I can easily take things out of context just as you can, even though I clearly know what you mean.

For everyone that is complaining at the notion of trading Simpson, don't waste your breath. It has only been myself that brought this idea up, and clearly people aren't bothering to reply to the points, rather just the notion. I have never said "I think we should trade Simpson/We must get rid of Simpson ect."
