Recently in the news we heard about the birth of the first human clone (still to be confirmed). Is this going to be how the future races will be born, to clone a human? To me, it is playing god just a little too much and something that should be halted without delay. All of the scientific world is outraged over the birth of this cloned child.

What are you thoughts?

I think its cool if they can do it.

Aparantley the cloned animals have started developing some odd diseases and conditions like arthritis developing earlier than expected. This kid is in for a torrid time if it is true.

well from what I know if it, the clones have a reduced life span - which is bad news to begin with. I do agree with you, this poor kid is going to have a rotten time with their life, depending on how long it survives. This is going beyond the line drawn in the sand and something that should have never been allowed to proceed. It figures that it was done in a cult situation, and the scientific evidence has still not been forthcoming.

It's most likely not true, but i don't see anything wrong with it. We could weed out disease, ugliness and stupidity from the human race over time. Of course, that would also mean a severe reduction in the number of BigFooty members, but that's the price you have to pay.

Nothing wrong with steroid abuse in sports either. Personally i'd love to see a guy run the 100m in 3 seconds. Sure, he'd fall over and die when he hits 32, but that's his problem.

I dont like it, i dont like it, i dont like it one bit.
Soon they'll be making robot-people Terminator 2 style, i'm tellin ya. Thats why i dont like these futuristic movies - they're almost warnings about what we're doing to ourselves and our world.. but as this thread shows... we just keep doing it.

I DONT LIKE IT!!!

I agree with you, it is against nature.. look helping couples with fertility is different, but this is taking a step we shouldnt.. god know what could happen with this clones as they age and even if they will live longer enough to reach a ripe old age.

really??? you don't see the future complications in agreeing to such a thing as this???
Sure I do, but if you're afraid of complications you won't achieve anything.

I think they should clone a small army of my ex. We could send them to Iraq - unarmed - and they could bitch Hussein in to giving up. Then as a reward, Hussein could kill them all. Everyone wins.

The potential there is enormous. If you really hate someone, you have the opportunity to kill them more than once. :D

The potential is enormous. Imagine the possibilities. Lonely men sitting around by themselves could grab their Clone-A-Tron 3000 off the shelf and whip themselves up a Liz Hurley or football teams could have 22 Matthew Lloyds running around.

Mooster, i am in love. Will you marry me?

Suppose i should see a photo?

Sure. Why not? ;)

As for the photo, any day now Hawkfan5 will be finished with the BF profiles page. I have faith.

How long until Eddie McGuire clones himself ?

He probably already has a secret cloning facility churining out clones of himself hidden under Jock McHale stadium, guarded by the most faithful of the Collingwood faithful. It's just like how the emperor from Star Wars has some secret cloning facility hidden somewhere is Coruscant (or is it somewhere else?).

Oh and with the main topic, a lot of claims have been made by that freak of a cult leader and b1tch of a doctor, but no solid proof has been offered other than their word. They are giving cloning a bad name with their fukt up views of humans and it's alarming how many people are convinced and follow the cult. Cloning at this point in time should be left for medical reasons, not for some idiot cult.
