Hows that?

6 years and near -100 games development into a continually best22 young mid from our first round pick that leaves to play out his career in his hometown
again

I think you're confused - they were talking about Hannebery, from whom we got 200 games at his prime, and offloaded his contract when injuries curtailed him for useful draft picks. We did extremely well out of that.

Jones and Dawson would be ones to be mad at instead imo

Tony Armstrong
Armstrong played 35 games across three clubs, the Adelaide Crows, Sydney Swans and Collingwood, from 2007 to 2015 before hanging up his boots with unfulfilled ambitions at the age of 25.
"I think 100 per cent that I failed," Armstrong says.
"What makes anyone who has played at an elite sporting level good is that you are never content but for me, success would have been playing 250 games of AFL, a premiership in there, being a dominant player for a long period of time and I wasn't that and that's OK. I am ok with having failed."
+ve
"It made me more willing to take risks, to put myself out there," he says.

Crouch has moved to the US and is no longer at the Swans Academy. We wish Crouchy and his family all the best in their new adventures in the Big Apple.
Bloods are forever and we'll be waiting for you.

Another Injury setback for Hanners. Did his calf in training.
**** you Easton Wood.

I guess some people never learn.
Yeah it seems this young bloke has a woman problem. He keeps hitting them. He needs to learn to kerp his fists to himself. Needs to learn control. Maybe a session in the boxing gym every morning to lose the anger would help?

Congratulations to Toby Nankervis 100 games and 3 flags . Should have played in the GF and would have smashed Boyd

There is a lot of systemic violence in aboriginal communities. This is a major problem that needs to be addressed. Kids growing up in these communities project these problems and are not immune to them affecting them long term in their lives.
Easy to lay blame on one thing.
Much harder to investigate and look to causes and implement long term fixes involving the communities in those fixes.
Its a hard one.
Yes, I agree here. The social development of Aboriginal communities has been hampered by rampant racism. We might not think we are racist but we are. I can remember going for a job and getting it. The kid before me was an Aboriginal kid with a wife and kids. He needed a job. The foreman called him a black campaigner after he had gone. To me this was horrible but times were hard and I also needed a job.

I would have walked out of that place and never taken the job had times been good. I ran after the Aboriginal kad and caught up with him. I apologised for the behavior of the foremanand for taking the job. He understood I needed the job. He was a great young guy. He would have been a model employee. But due to racism he struggled to get a job. In those days there would be signs up on business fronts for workers. But with stipulation of no blacks, no Catholics and no Jews. I think we have come a long way but there is still systemic racism in Business and corporations.

Many of the problems in Aboriginal communities can be attributed to systemic racism and the lack of opportunity that ensues from that. I have quite a few Aboriginal friends. If they had not worked for government or the community sector they would have struggled. Even though they are all highly educated getting a job in the private sector was extremely difficult.

I see that Hammers comeback delayed by yet another soft tissue injury. 2016 GF was the beginning of the end for the poor guy. Can't see him getting a new contract at season's end.

Dan Hannaberry injured yet again. That deal must stand out as, one of the greatest footy cons of all time. They take his contract with the Swans, pay it out and we get a decent pick. They get a chronically injured player we get to go to the draft, we used the pick in our bid for Blakey. But the salary cap space was so much more.

We knew he was shot when we traded him. His injuries, were extensive and that shoulder was a real concern. Now he has done a hammy on his way back. Twice in this season he has been injured on his comeback. He injured something in preseason as well.

Calf , we also did the Pitura deal and then the Teasdale deal

I feel bad for Hanners, if the umps hadn't turned a blind eye to the several slides throughout the match before that point Wood probably wouldn't have been so eager to cannon into Hanners leg. That Absolutely ruined Hanners career, was an absolute gun to that point in his career and can now barely get onto the field.

Hope he retires , should be remembered for the star he was
