Cost us the game, simple.

3 goals from the named forwards, simply not good enough, not excluding anyone here.

And we don't have anything better on our list, need to recruit forwards at season end, PLURAL, FORWARDS.

Agree in part but our major issue was our midfield, particularly early. The amount of inside 50's we in the first half it wouldn't matter who we had up front.

The Midfield got there Pants Pulled Down tonight.

Moore can play Forward.

In the VFL

Most Likely - But IF our Forward like keeps putting bad Performances in.

He could be back in a few weeks

Wasn't the forward line at all. The way we structured out F50 setup leaving Port to have one, maybe two men back all night cost us the game. The forwards can only do so much and when there arent enough numbers around to support, the whole thing falls apart. Having Buddy in there tonight wouldn't have helped us one iota.

We hardly got the ball in their when it was dry, and wet it was wet, it was wet...

I think the real issue is that if the ball doesn't come in to their advantage they give up (probably with the exception of Blair).

They simply don't even bother to spoil and potentially halve the contest.

If we did something as simple as start to spoil when out positioned it would improve us out of sight.

Oh... But then there's the issue of having a decent crumber.

How's the delivery all game from the midfield to multiple 2 on 1s against Blair and Elliot. Was a big problem for us tonight. That's hardly the forwards fault

It wasn't just the delivery, granted it was never going to be clean when wet.

There were several times our forwards were in the wrong position, and gave little second effort to stop Port defenders from springing the ball back out.

The midfield was mauled in the first quarter, but after that I think the mids won it back, if you look at the final stats. We evened up in clearances, we won the hitouts, we were getting our hands on the ball.

Cloke, Elliott, Blair - woeful.

The forward line was definitely not the issue. It took 3 quarters for Buckley to make a decision to even up numbers behind the ball. He makes the decision. We get 2 quick goals, they throw and 8th defender in and we leave it for the rest of the game.

Buckley has been good this year but that combined with the selection table killed us.

Lulz.

I'd rather hear you say again how replacing Marley with Grundy on a wet night against the side full of dangerous small forwards was a great move :$

As long as he isn't taking up nearly 10% of the salary cap he doesn't have to be. Just needs to perform to the same level of Cloke (isn't hard) and we'll be much better off
Brisbane and Carlton need a KPF more than we do, he'd command a high price, similar to Cloke.

Elliott needs a spell in the twos. Get BK in to play as a crumber rotating through the midfield.
Play Moore Up Forward - He be no Worse the what Cloke and White did tonight.

Throw a Ton a Charlie Dixon
Moore has had his chance. Time to go back to the twos to learn his trade properly.

Got smashed in clearances. Forwards terrible tho. How often does the ball fly through Jesse whites hands? (Not just tonight). Why are we bombing to blair 1 on 3.... Far out. So annoyed.

Exactly my thoughts. Elliots efforts were there tonight, I thought, but god he was sloppy. I wonder if he's bought into this expectation of him being a 'matchwinner' now and puts too much pressure on himself. I can't remember him dropping marks and fumbling like he is now.

Their delivery was poor tonight, but yeah... They sucked.

Elliott, for all his ability, is developing a bit of pattern of going missing in big games.

Cloke + Blair ineffective tonight, Elliot + White, 1 each, overall pretty poor return.

Really wish Reid was available and allowed to play forward.

Elliott needs to play forward and not up the field like they have played with the last few weeks.. He is the most dangerous one on one forward we have so let him do what he does best..
