for a few years. I’m far from alone in that. He deserves huge kudos for the improvement in Guthrie, Menegola and Parfitt and the way the midfield group is playing as a whole.

Ive backed most of our lot in over the run but Menegola has gotten in my crosshairs more than most - and usually deservedly.

Of late however, whilst still not having the best disposal accuracy an being a tad slow at times to sense the speed of the moment, his gut running both defensively and offensively to benefit the team is amazing.

So credit to him for that and I was wrong to want him dropped in his execution alone

I was 14% wrong about Bews, he has finally become worth his spot in his 7th season.

Daz mate I was saying the same thing last night. I couldn't believe him streaming through 50 and spraying the shot, I was convinced that the Bears would whip it down the other end ad nauseam and punish us for that.

But his ability to cover the ground is very, very good. I just want him to quickly and safely take the first option and he will be as damaging a winger as there is in the game

Add me to the list with Simpson. We smashed them with size and strength but he brought the class through the stoppages in that first half.

Yep I thought he would suffer second game blues and that was clearly not the case last night

That sprayed goal shot (with Hawkins free) obscured my appraisal of his game live, but I expected as much so made an effort to track him the second go round.

He was very good. So effective on the spread and getting to contests to help out. Huge factor in us winning the territory battle, as was Dangerfield. The interplay with the other mids was too notch at points and he executed the nice kicks that have been a hallmark of his 2020 season.

This might take some beating- I thought Parsons would be in our team ahead of Simpson. Simpson has been a revelation.

(I still rate Parsons, but clearly, out of contract, and zero games this Covid season, he will have to look elsewhere.)

This one feels huge to me. I was convinced Mitch Duncan would retire as a superb home and away performer who never had a convincing finals series. He has been one of our best in all three 2020 finals. Only had one official goal assist but had his hands in many, as well as three missed shots (so "point assists"). His hands in tight were brilliant at crucial stages of the game. He hasn't been a nervous Nelly, he has been a warrior. Well done Mitch - one more of the same, please.

i did not think we could rely on Stanley, Rohan, Duncan or Menegola to consistently perform at their known best in consecutive finals.
Very wrong.

I did not think we could reach a GF with playing Blicavs as a wing/ruck, Hendo at CHB and only one key forward. We might still lose the GF, but you can’t say this structure hasn’t worked.

The way we seemed to be gifting Parsons games, it seemed like he was ahead of everyone.

I gave Henry a massive blast in the game day thread after he got caught holding the ball last night and said he wasn't up to it. Yeah that's one I want to take back, he ended up playing well and got a clutch goal. Now he just needs to stop getting pinged!
