Would love a 40th year one this year but I heard the AFL is limiting the amount of kits this year so suspect we’ll get one for the 20th anniversary of 06 (someone if the boys wearing 20th year anniversary caps at training).

Also 1.23-1.43 mark epitomises Darlings career

Those are just the 20 year BHP caps i'm pretty sure.

Apparently a limit of 4 events guernseys per team.

So something like: First Nations, Anzac, Gather Round and 40th would be my preference.

Gather Round can easily double up for WA day if the Ochre rumours are true.

40th Celebrations can also tie in with the 2006 Premiership like in previous anniversary seasons, i think 40 years as a club trumps a premiership design imo, as we haven't done one since 2002 and that was 10 years of our very first!

Wait. Why are we limiting jumper numbers? Is this another "soft cap". Did the president of Footscray complain that it's not fair that they can only afford the graphic design fee for three jumpers, so other clubs should be limited too?

As much as I’d love to see the ochre during gather round it would seem pretty stupid to wear it v Geelong where there would then be an over abundance of navy blue unless Geelong are just going with a white jumper

Just to give you guys a visual. It's not that bad.

It's modern but pays homage to the history.

Plus I was saying keep the home kit as it is. This is purely for clash games.
Purely for clash.

Ok, but what situation is there that out current home/away set up requires the need for a majority white? Which matchup?

We don't need a white jumper.

I appreciate the effort and thought of these, I can see where you are coming from trying to jazz up the current jumper line up.

Although the second two feel very training jumper for mine.

For me, a good footy jumper is one that is traditional in design. Your sashes/hoops/stripes. And one that is simple in its colour palette.

Our wings are a very cleaver play on the traditional yoke design. It works well because it's two bold, high contrast colours and a "traditional" design

I like the idea of gather round as a one off for clubs to come up with wacky designs as well as Sir Doug rounds.
Apart from that, we should be in royal and gold for the other 20 games.

No thanks. I genuinely do not like the path the AFL have taken for Anzac round.

Not every team needs a Anzac jumper, which are slowly morphing into military glorification pieces, not tribute and rememberance. Leave them for the Collingwoods and Essendons. We (and the GCs/GWSs of the comp do not need one)

If they insist, a simple poppy on the chest is more than suffice. Meaningful and respectful.

It’s to stop clubs from money spinning jumpers even more than they do now. Some clubs would end up barely playing in their traditional strips without a cap on special jumpers.

Also, I’m pretty sure a white base wings was floated at some point in the 2000s before the tablecloth came in. It was the crappy ochre head, white base and a thick royal blue outline on the wings. I remember someone sharing the poll about it in the RTW thread years ago.

Thanks Dorothy.

I mean does it matter? Why does it have to be so serious? We could wear it against Gold Coast, Melbourne, Richmond, Brisbane, Port, Adelaide, Carlton, Fremantle when away. Why not introduce a Derby kit? Not sure why everything must be so set in stone and two tone. EPL teams come out with 3 x new kits every season, all representing history but modern. Anyway, I'm talking to the wrong crowd.

Excited for the season, and SoO this weekend.

Eh? Surely clubs will stop making new jumpers if their fans don't buy them (or at the very least to avoid merciless mocking from other fanbases)? If the fans ARE buying them then why shouldn't they make them?

It’s the onfield thing. As far as I know the AFL weren’t happy with clubs making 7/8/9 different jumpers to wear in the year.
