Yep good call Bill. Clearly I didn't think that one through enough. The only way to do it would be something like..........
1st player $550,000 - Wade then Nowitzki then Carmelo
2nd player $525,000 - Nowitzki then Carmelo then Rose
So if I got Wade at $550k but then couldn't afford Nowitzki at $550 as well, I might still get Nowitzki at $525k which I could afford.
If I missed Wade at $550k, I might get Nowitzki at $550 instead, and then maybe either Carmelo or Rose at $525k etc.
Anyway, maybe too complicated that way..........was just trying to help you out more than anything cos I know you'll have to enter all the teams into Yahoo.
Maybe 1 more round will see most people out hopefully!

Regarding the alternative bidding, we laggards could bid the same amount but list preferred alternatives (i.e., Player A-550,000; Player B-550,000; etc.) so that if we get outbid for Player A, we get Player B or Player C, and at least the round isn't wasted (in other words, everyone is fairly certain to get a player for each round).

Are all players (not including sleeper contracts) on my roster able to be allocated developing contracts but only newly drafted players in this past auction allowed to be given team contracts?
Are you able to trade a player during the season if have a development or team contract? And if so I assume the team trading for a player with a development contract would have to take it on as well?

Yep, all that is correct. Except players retained with a Sleeper Contract can be Contracted Development too. So basically all players can be Development, & only players won during the Auction (incl QO player) can be given a Team Contract.
And yeah, players given a contract now, retain that contract when traded. Players contracted will be identified with a 'k' in Yahoo.

Yes, I have one spot left now. Regarding team contracts, if such a player gets hurt and is out for the following year (let's say someone had Paul George on a team contract last year), is is possible to drop him? How about if it ends his career (like Brandon Roy)? Or are you stuck with his contract on the books regardless?

You can drop a player on a Team contract up until the All Star break. After that you have to carry his contract through to the next Auction, so there is an inherent risk. A career ending injury would warrant special consideration.
Any player dropped to waivers loses his associated contract.
