One of the best, gone too soon. RIP Kurt.
Watching Unplugged In NY on Foxtel now. That music is still chilling today.

Selfish, shit human being.

Imagine being so irresponsible when you're a father ffs. Gutless bloke, no sympathy whatsoever.

Hypocrite too - claimed he hated fame, yet went major label and cashed in on fame when he could have withdrawn from the spotlight.

Handy with a melody, rubbish drug-addled lyrics.

Nirvana were waaaay overrated. Pearl Jam and Soundgarden shat all over.

an over rated songwriter/guitar player glorified way to much just because he took his own life with the result being the music he made is considered way better then what it actually was.

Not over rated at all

People still get chills when they hear Sounds Like Teen Spirit, or watch the viseo clip for the first time.

I dont get any of that with Pearl Jam or Soundgarden

Chills from SLTS? Jesus, heroin chills, or do you just have shit taste?

Black by Pearl Jam has more meaning than Nirvana's entire catalogue.

Remember the first time I saw SLTS and thought whoa WTF is this:eek: Mind blowing at the time & still a very impressive song/clip. And I'm not a Nirvana fan at all though I like some of the songs & respect the monumental effect they had on the course of pop music.

The entire Unplugged set was incredible but OK...

Not knocking Black at all, reckon it is a top notch song, but Nirvana still had some very nice tunes.

i'm a fan of both but they are irrelevant now, vedder's best work is long over, so much so that they have resorted to bringing out a "legacy" version of ten. because they no longer have any original stuff and their audience has grown up and gen y has no respect for them.
soundgarden, lol, now they were overrated.

Wrong and wrong.

hard to see how they were overrated.

Nirvana and Pearl Jam are the 2 most popular bands globally from the grunge era, people forget or don't even know Soundgarden were doing grunge before any of these bands were.

pearl jam wouldn't be the rich stars today if nirvana hadn't paved the way. Their best work is actually behind them commercially, but musically they still have "it" in the manner of great songs. they're just more "mature" songs as opposed to the hits such as black, etc.
soundgarden weren't over-rated, chris cornell is however.

as for kurt - i blame courtney love. for everything. she's shifty that one.

Sorry but I have to disagree.

Some of the Jammers best work lies in their B sides and 'lesser known' songs - not just the big hits from TEN and VS like Alive and Daughter that got them exposed and even now are still flogged on the radio.

There are alot of Pearl Jam fans out there and having grown up with them I've never been turned off their music at all, they have evolved brilliantly as a band.

With another album due out later this year I don't think their target audience is specifically Gen Y - in fact I dont think they really have a target audience other than their fans which you'll find span across all generations.

Also why are they irrelevant now - because new music is continually coming out so it must be better than PJ/Soundgarden's albums from the 90s? Wes Carr fan?

EV is king. :thumbsu:

who the ****'s wes carr?
it's your right to disagree just like it's mine.
if you'd bothered to read (you can read?) an earlier post of mine i said that i am a fan of both so congrats for resorting to the childish insults.
MY view is that P/J are past their prime. feel free to disagree but try to refrain from jumping up and down like a bitch and getting all defensive
