AFL Club
Geelong
We have been treated to a banquet for several years.
Players have feasted and drunk from the premiership cup.
Many have had their fill and the table has been slowly cleared.
Some are still kicking on but soon will be washed up.
Now space must made at the table for young hungry men.

Who will be leaving the Table next year?

Can see McIntosh, Lonergan & Enright retiring at the end of 2015.

McIntosh if he is gone by season's end physically which I expect.
If Lonergan's form is still good then give him another 1 year contract otherwise offer him a defensive coaching role at Geelong.
Enright we are all expecting to retire, but I guess if stays consistent and plays well, you never know.

Oh also expecting Kelly to retire end of 2015.

Slowing down a bit but not as much as people made it sound like.

But think Bews will be chosen above him throughout 2015.

How come no one else has voted? :(

I really didn't see that much in SJ this year *ducks for cover* - yes, Brownlow votes + all that - but what did he actually DO? :p

Need to see more of Bews, thought he was terrific this year, so I want him to have more games, which = experience.

Doubt it. Our club plays quantity over quality
Quantity being achievement in this case

Lonners just signed a 2 year deal until end 2016.

No one has voted for Jimmy yet :D

Bruce McAvaney "He's a beauty isn't he Jimmy?!"
Jimmy will play until he's 46! He is Scotty's classic versatile player! He can play anywhere, anytime + always plays well above the average, compared to the older vets. Checkout his stats -

+ goals for 2014

Jimmy + Nadia need to shake a leg + get on with producing father/sons for the Club.

Enrights last year for sure, expect to see him play less games over the H&A season. He'll reach 300 which will be great.

Lonergan was patchy last year I thought, but then got named in the AA squad. So maybe he wasn't that bad. Given what he's endured with his kidney you wonder if it will take a toll on him eventually, shortening his career. He's a gutsy guy that's for sure. I have lots of admiration for him.

Kelly is everyone's whipping boy at the moment. Was carrying an injury in the latter part of 2014 & finals, so output was way down I agree. I think he's still an important player overall for 2015. Not sure if he'll retire, as I see him possibly playing his last years at another club like Chappy. Depends how the body is holding up I suppose.

HMac also carrying an injury by the end of the 2014 season which greatly affected his mobility (knee IIRC). Considering 2014 was the first near full season of footy he's played in several years, I thought he did a decent job overall. But the BF pundits all think he should be gone. My tip is he'll be offered another year at the end of 2015.

Simpson - Two years in a row he's broken down by the end of the season due to injuries. I think it's harder for big men like Simmo to carry injuries, especially back one's. If Stanley & Vardy can produce results he may just end up on the scrap heap if he can't keep up.

Bartel, StevieJ, Mackie - Should make it to 2016 barring any bad injuries.

I don't mind us retiring Kel,enright & Mcintosh will free up coin and bring in youth
When Enright was interviewed at the beginning of the season he was unsure if he'd go on in 2015. Said the work + pain involved in keeping match fit was really hard. HMac, I agree CW. But I think Kelly is the new BF whipping boy :(

For sure and we'll get all of Cameron, Sloane, Dangerfield, walker, S.selwood, Cotchin and my favourite of the lot, dustin Martin.

Oh...well good work Cats!

That gives enough time for us to draft a KPD & give them a year or two before going in the deep end.

Though think one of Rivers & Enright should be rested during the year to give Kolodjashnij a go.

I just want to know if our stars will do the club and their legacy a great service by teaching kids in the VFL for a season or two.

Why have them leave for a local club when they can nurture and inspire future successors?

2013 most underrated player
2014 most overrated player

I know one player who should definitely be doing this until he retires especially if he's considered becoming a coach, SJ.
