The Lotto.

Do you ever play it?

How often do you play it?

What's the most you have won?

Stories of people you know that have won big etc.

Might buy a ticket once a month. Never won more than 20 bucks.

Don't know anyone that has won it.

Know a guy who has played for over 20 years 3x a week...never won shit.

I buy one when I notice a jackpot and can be bothered.

For tattslotto I just get a quick pick for about $12 I think it is and you get like 15 games or whatever. Every third or fourth one I will win division 6 and get my money back.

Powerball is a complete money pit, hence the big jackpots. I once bought a quick pick on one of the jackpot draws and got 4 out of 7 numbers but because I didn't get the powerball I didn't even win the lowest division. They have a thing called power hit which guarantees you the powerball. It is costly because it is essentially one set of numbers multiplied by the 20 possible power balls but given you basically need the powerball to get anything back at all I roll that way. Think it costs about $25 for one set of numbers. I won 9th division last week actually and got $10 back. Yay!

The one thing I don't do though is pick my own numbers. I think if you do that you end up locking yourself in to playing every week. Imagine sitting on the couch watching tv and your tattslotto numbers flashed up and you hadn't bought a ticket that week. Straight to the west gate......

Just get a 24 game ticket for the Sturdee gig @ $17.20....That's the be all & end all of my gambling habit...Have been doing the same for 35 years.

Best I've done is 5 numbers for a return of $900 approx...just 2 digits off having the 6th number which would have delivered me $1.3 million instead.

Most weeks I'll usually get my money back through a 5th or 6th division win.

A guy I knew a long time ago won it. Well his syndicate did... and there were 13 other winners. He shouted the bar before he'd found out how much his cut was. His share was a tad over $1k, so he had a few hundred left after shouting the bar. The good news is he was already a millionaire anyway.

I haven't known any winners since. I play it every couple of months with a system 8 and all up have won maybe $400 doing that over the past 5 years.

I don't think it'd be wise to tell anyone if you did win a large one like this weeks upcoming Powerball.

Good and bad time to win. Good because we will all be unemployed. Bad because you'd have 80 million and nothing to spend it on when you are locked up inside. Hell yes I bought a ticket though.

Whats everyone planning to do if they win OS holiday, a cruise, private hospital insurance ?

Nah, blessing in disguise. Do nothing for a year and collect interest gives you time to lay low and plan your investment strategy to protect you from yourself.

I can’t speak for anyone else here but I’m 30. I’d lay low in an extended quarantine to reduce virus exposure risk, and set up long term quarantine measurements and a retirement fund for my parents. Send some money to immediate family only and that’s it. Gaining financial independence would be a blessing in these dark times. I’d be looking at the long term.

I might buy a $10 or $15 dollar ticket most weeks when it's over 10-15mill. Most I have won was $50 I reckon but I have periods where I'll win $10-20 regularly.

Yeah. Good time to kind of sit on it and figure out what your best moves are though. Less stress about the worries of it all. Can pull the family out of work.

Someone just won 80 mil...

luckiest person in the world right now.

Could quarantine yourself and well just yourself with a lot of entertainment (your own Time Zone room for example :P) to last a few months of a lock down!

It sounds weird but I reckon I would hate to win the lotto. Imagine being that lucky to win that much money, I'd feel like a big dose of bad luck would be around any given corner.

Being born in Australia, I think we can safely say that we've all pretty much won the lotto as it is.

That's a nice way of looking at it. The bad luck begins about the same time people find out who's won. Even if you have a good, loyal group of family and friends who appreciate what they get and don't ask for seconds, it causes problems for them when people they know notice their change of fortune. In the US and other countries, there's been murders, kidnappings, suicides, divorces, and overdoses from big winners. Thankfully we have anonymity laws over here.
