oxtel is adding a "daring" new home-grown show to its line-up: The Mansion, a weekly half-hour comedy series slated to premiere on The Comedy Channel in March 2008. Hosted by comedians Michael Chamberlin and Charlie Pickering, The Mansion will offer a look at the week's current affairs, entertainment and sport, as well as feature topical sketches.

seen the ad for this a few times, tried to crack a smile at their gags but alas nothing.

Why didn't you blokes enter the Comedy Gold show that the Comedy Channel ran about a month or two ago?

The gist of it was that anyone was allowed to come up with a format for a new comedy show, they got to present it and in the end two shows were chosen to go ahead and get funding to make it into an actual show.

One of the shows chosen was by Jason Gann of The Wedge and Wilfred(Created by him) fame.

I believe they will be having another one at some point, maybe get your things together and create something.

when i first saw the ad for the mansion i got scared and checked the guide as i thought i was watching box office reviews on foxtels new movies. thought it was a new horror flick.

Because we don't like our own humour on that level. It's alright when you joke around with your mates, but when you tune in to a comedian you want a bit more.

But we have an ok strike rate. Have a look at the comedy channel when an American comedian is on, you'll see that for every good American comedian there are 100 dime a dozen crappy comics who do jokes about differences between black/asian/white/mexican people.

This morning I was listening to the tapes of the Armed offenders squad beating the crap out of a suspect.

There's nothing worse than people who think they're funny, but they just... are not. And these morons obviously fit into this category. Their jokes are terrible, and even the delivery is awful.

that makes four. the other day i almost kicked my tv in its so annoying. another ad which sh*ts me is that bug spray 'off' ad. the one where the dad and son keep saying that they dont hav it on and the mum says they do.
