Ta be honest I’m gonna be gutted if we lose Tabs now. It’s just the worse time For him to go for a stack of reasons.
- We are still without a strong KPF
- we have invested heaps of time into him
- he is just starting to clunk them
- he is developing some presence on the ground
- he’s the right age and cheap
- he can fill the hole until someone better is ready/ on board

Would be really poor timing to see him go this year IMO.

While Cox has shown a bit Cammac and Kersten are only 3rd talls.

This would mean that that selecting a tall at pick 5 is almost a certainty. Trouble is Hayes, Norton or Brander would be a reach at 5.

Trade 5 for Brisbane's 12 & 18; take Naughton with 12 and Hayes or Allen with 18.

I really like Allen (and would love him on our list) but he also doesn't solve our problem of genuine inside 50 presence so McCarthy etc can play 2nd/3rd tall. Allen has even said this week he thinks he could become a big bodied midfielder - I assume because he knows he isn't able to take that primary KPF responsibility. If we downgrade #5 I think we have to take a genuine primary KPF prospect with one of the picks. Personally I'd still take best available mid at #5 and use our second pick (#40 or whatever it ends up) on one of the higher risk KPF prospects. And rookie list someone like Chris Scott as another KPD option, who is similar in many ways to Naughton but more raw (he won the bog for WAFL Colts grand final).
