the mcleod rumour grows

theres nothing like a good rumour to distract us (saints supporters) from another horror season but theres a good one going around at the moment. i know rumours aren't worth 2 bob but it was reported on 3aw rumour file this morning that mc leods contract is up and he may be looking to link up with his former coach, namely one m. blight.

usually i don't take take any notice of mid season rumours but i first heard this about 6 weeks ago and it is starting to do the rounds everywhere, spreading like the proverbial wild fire.

is ayres coaching again next year? is mc leod out of contract at the end of this year? if he's not i can tell all the rumour mongers that they are bullsh!t artists. if he is your club may need to do something extraordinary to keep him because i'm sure blighty will move heaven and earth to get him.

heard anything in adelaide, or is the mere thought of it just to hard to talk about?

Strongly doubt Mcleod would leave, hes got a leadership role at the club now, and their arnt any signs he's not happy with the club

Haven't heard that but I doubt he'd move, though you never know. I'm sure we'd move heaven and earth to keep him so I don't think Macca would go to the Saints, in spite of how close arelationship he has with Blighty.

If he does want to go, we'll take Koschitzke (sp), Riewoldt, Beetham, Hayes and Milne in exchange.

Can you imagine the uproar if the Crows let Macca go? It would be fifty times worse than when Modra left. Membership numbers would drop dramatically. People would be donating all their money boxes just to keep him here.

If some of the senior players are going to retire at the end of this season, the Club would want to keep Macca, otherwise the stability of the team would be severely damaged.

Heaven forbid that we should lose Macca. His brilliance is what's keeping us afloat this season.

Anyway, Blighty hasn't eactly starred in his coaching role this year has he, despite recuiting all those "top gun" players. I think he's lost his touch !!

well this rumour has thrown the cat amongst the crows, the thought of losing mc leod would be similar to what we experienced when the lockett rumours started 1/2 way through his last year, to awful to even contemplate.

so mc leod is out of contract then?

ozgeek, you mentioned that blighty has lost his touch, well i'm sure with a little bit of macca magic he would quickly regain his midas touch, given some luck with injuries.

hang on to him for dear life, he's in the top few players running around at the moment, but if the unthinkable was to happen you could console yourself with the trade options of elliot, plapp, peckett, young, ryan or walton, in fact you can have them all anyway.
