What does "hyphonetically" mean?
At present I'm not venturing away from my desktop at home, reading BF and listening to SEN / 3AW / 5aa for the latest on Essendrama and glancing incessantly at the TV news and then at my new Nancy Kwan avatar which HaroldOliver seems to think might in fact be me...
No trams running. Taxi routes screwed up. Long walk to the MTR. Call me a couch potato.
I well remember the Beijing Spring of 1989. Got involved here in the protest marches myself that Sunday, June 4. Those were hairy times - considering Beijing was going to take over here eight years later.
This time there are a number of the same parameters in place. We need cool heads at the top of all participating institutions. Hopefully, boredom will set in, an interim deal will be reached and the streets will clear. The most worrying parallel between 1989 and now is that the students, those innocent young minds who always mean well, are in a position to again have their cause hijacked by older heads with ulterior motives.
I listened to Rowe today for the first time since April and I was shocked. Good satirical comedy requires some exaggeration and now I don't think that's possible when doing him. He seems to actually believe the 19th Man is a living, breathing tax-paying person, not just a second-hand concept. No-one can be as funny as he is stupid. It's just not possible.Could you create a thread with all these in please mate, so funny reading them!

It's one reason why folks like Hitler and Jesus Christ are difficult targets for satire.

Just heard some of Pendlebury's speech and he saying thanks to the fans which is fair enough, but he then went on too say they get 75,000 each week to there home games. Fk they're as deluded as what Essendon are. I reckon there last 4 home games they struggled to 40,000 at the games.

Bit harsh comparing him to the goings on at Essendon. Pendlebury is entitled to talk up their attendances and their 'game day experience', fair enough. Of course when it's a Victorian 'blockbuster' the audience draw is entirely due to them, not to who they are playing. It's annoying, it smacks a little of hubris, it's somewhat delusional, but it's not on the scale of the disease at Essendon these days.

My biggest media shakes head media moment of the week has to be a joint effort from the likes of KG, Cornes, Jars, Wildy, Bone, cRowe & Dillon all sinking the boot into free agency saying it's a blight on the game but overlook the fact they got Eddie 'pocket' Betts as a free agent!
So it's only a blight when clubs like Melbourne lose overrated players like Frawley despite being overly compensated with a top 5 pick or Saints choose to move Goddard on but it's all good when they get an AA out of it?
Free agency has it's positives/negatives but what about the good news stories for players that stagnated at their clubs like Monfries & White who made the move & are now playing the best footy of their careers?
This morning on 5AA Rucci and his mates were talking about how we would go about picking up Ryder in the draft if he became a delisted free agent. It's fair to say we have the most clueless, out of the loop football media in the country. I reckon the rugby league states get greater insight out of their local scribes.
Wildy "Why would Gorringe go to Port? He has a much better chance of getting a game at Adelaide"
Mind you their call in audience includes the guy who just said Norwood beat Port in the GF because Norwood had superior fitness to an AFL side is the level they are pitching at.
Hahah. A bunch of depressed kids got rolled by less than a kick on a hot day after coughing up a 5-goal lead in the first 10 minutes.
