I just wish Fox Footy would give us the option of no commentary, just crowd noise. They could call it "Press red for no dickheads".

Seriously though, the so called commentators should listen to the V8 Supercar commentators to see how it should be done. Scaife, Ingall and the rest of the team are as unbiased as you could hope for and if you didn't know their histories you would have no clue as to who they drove for.

Koch is a great business man and ambassador of the club, but when it comes to his opinions on football he's just another supporter giving his opinion, which really means no more or less than the opinions given here.

Wow Good on you mate!!!! By the way, I wasn't aware but yeah the centreline and toothless comments are unnecessary.

It is so typical of someone who has no logic to bring to an argument. At the G on Saturday GranFormaggi got asked how his dental plan was going. There was a free paid to Carlton, or none paid to us, and we had a go. This Carlton supporter behind us said "I agreed with it, the umpire agreed with it, are we both wrong"? Well in short mate "Yes". And here comes the dental plan comment.

So there's none more disappointed with the result than me, having put my dole money on Port. Was going to get falsies with the proceeds.

I can always steal some DVD players though, which was another gem.

So he was right you have no dental plan just a plan to get breast implants

aye

I've heard so much from him during this slump. It's fine enough to hear him talk ad nauseam about how far back we've come from and how young the team is when we're up but when we're down it gets very old fast. Just stop the damage control, pleasssse.
id rather him just be honest and say we have under performed, not crap like 5th youngest team, media based expectations etc...

Koch has the primary goal of making sponsors happy. Pretty sure Renaults deal ends this year, and we want them to renew based on optimism, not realism. That means his job is to sell the next year if things are going bad, and this year if things are going good.

Such a great year to completely stink it up.

I watched and listened to Clinton Grybas host shows and commentate games numerous times. Until the day of his funeral when his coffin was draped in a Collingwood flag you would have had no idea who he barracked for. Such a loss to footy media. :(

So that's why I had a survey about Renault's sponsorship in my inbox.

While I got nothing against Renault vehicles(at least they aren't bloody Volvos or Fords), Renault isn't even one of the biggest manufacturers.
If we want big sponsors with big dollars, why not look at Chevron or Exxon, both of whom are conducting oil exploration off our coast in the Great Australian Bite? They also happen to be some of the biggest corporations in the world.

Wholesale oil producers don't need to expand their brand awareness among the general public. Look at who sponsors AFL teams- car companies!

Renault- Port Adelaide
Toyota - Adelaide (and AFL)
Mazda - North Melbourne
Ford- Geelong
VW- Sydney
Holden- Collingwood
Hyundai- Carlton

And I bet I'm missing a few too.

Companies like that don't tend to sponsor sports organisations these days- they just spend their money in the communities to pump up their image. In fact ExxonMobil specifically state they do not sponsor sporting organisations.

Because for companies like that, unless it is a purely goodwill exercise, there is nothing in it for them. By and large, only retail products, the ones consumers buy, sponsor sporting teams. There are a couple of exceptions, like Woodside, but by and large, you sponsor a football team to increase your brand awareness in the hope more people will buy your product.

Hyundai- Brisbane as well

Toyota sponsor the Eagles as well don't they?
Kia - Essendon (?)
Fiat - Suns

Well they are drilling for exploration purposes in pristine waters..you know, environmental damage and all that.
Sports sponsorship could buy them some good will.
Just a thought.
