Had a look at Perth Now on line this morning,

Ytf would you do that after the weekend? You need to immediately block all news sites and social media, and if walking around, consult Google Maps to avoid any newsagencies.

Went for a swim this morning and this guy comes to the pool with his WC scarf (~25 degrees today so he clearly needed it)... If there is a story about an 'accidental' drowning at a public pool on the news tonight... completely unrelated I promise.

I can handle all the Eagle adulation. Stuff em but they are in a GF.

What I can’t stand. What really grinds my gears. Is the constant need to reference Fremantle in any discussions.

Some knob phoned 6pr and went on about how the players from the top 4 really respected their coaches. Apparently you can ‘see it’. They play for the coach and blah blah. He then felt the need to say unlike a certain club down Freo way... then proceeded to bad mouth Lyon and the club. The 6pr presenters just agreed and went with it.

I was so pissed off. I mean this knob phones and all of a sudden Buckley, Hardwick and Goodwin are messiahs. I mean just go back 2 years and see what was being said about them and even last year for Goodwin and Buckley.

Pissed me right off that Freo even need to be mentioned in this way AND it happens ALL the time.

I haven't listened to 6pr since Grizzleguts, I recommend doing the same.
Boycott the media, lucky there is a thing called the internet that helps alleviate the issues

The WA media is far too focussed on blind WA parochialism. West Cost Eagles, hysteria about sharks, Julie Bishop puff pieces and Danny Green are all bound to appear in some shape or form most weeks. Very tedious.

I paricularly liked the story in Saturdays West on the Eagles when they were kids! FFS THEY MUST HAVE run out of dribble to spin- next page was HB allegidly defending criminals a few years ago just to dig into us!
Channels seven and ten have purchased adult diaper's for Bazil and Grossage.. they get so excited reading WC news they generally piss themselves
I'm looking forward to Muffields incitefull comments in the West later this year on our list - will be as balanced as an ex WC on a rooftop

Duffield's one of the better writer's going around. His take on Freo is always balanced and fair.

Sam Edmund put out a story the other day about Jack Martin going to Essendon. Someone questioned him on twitter about why he would publish it when in the article he writes that the story is unconfirmed. Edmund replies that he wrote that the story that was unconfirmed because it was, and then later he found out that reason for it being unconfirmed was that meeting between Jack Martin and Essendon didn't happen.

I know its only football news but the journalistic standards seem to be that you can make stuff up and if you do it everyday, you might get one right, and that's all that counts.

I doubt Geelong would give up 2 best 22 midfielders in one year with Ablett on limited time.

The general point I was making is that there's a media prediction every day. Hardie at the same time as repeating this 'nugget' on 6pr this afternoon was taking praise for having the early mail about the Neale-Hogan-May 3 way deal that is one of the trade stories of today (They replayed some audio of Hardie talking about that from last Friday).

Just total nonsense.

Duffield's one of the better writer's going around. His take on Freo is always balanced and fair.

Yep, like most of us Duff has a boss and he has to work in an Eagles dominated environment. When let off the leash after the Gaff incident he didn't miss the Eagles, he was brutal.

I don't always like what he writes, but in this town it's as close a we're going to get to impartial.
