I remember damien barrett being amazed that terry wallace watches every game of the year - reckoned he would be the only one in the industry. I would have thought that would be the bare minimum for a footy journalist! I can understand the sports jounalists at the newspapers maybe not being able to but the specialist afl guys definitely should

It shows when Terry Wallace speaks. I enjoy listening to Wallace every year during Trade Radio, actually knows what hes talking about, understands clubs lists and positions going forward. His opinion should be regarded more highly than jokers like Kane Cornes. Don't even get me started on Leigh Matthews, obviously a champion of the game, but a f***ing useless campaigner in the media who provides nothing.

I work at the School and taught Heath and his older brother music through their primary years (who has the same degenerative eye condition) and they are both such characters. Full of personality, both talented musicians as well. He is right, our school too often gets Eagles coming, so this was a welcome change!!
Very proud of how he spoke, and Lachie was fantastic as well. Well Done Freo, dig deep people!

Lip service paid to everything other than the poor form of numerous Victorian teams
A big deal made of the rivalry of perennial cellar dwellers, the pies and blues
Wrapped up by the meaningless dribble of dunstall and derm talking hawks and reminiscing
Won’t be tuning in again for a while

It is the same as last season. There are a couple of games for both teams that will be delayed on free to air and our game today is one of them. IIRC the Eagles had the same with their game last week. It is still live on Fox.

ABC Grandstand didn't broadcast the GC v Fremantle match until the second half, despite their schedule claiming a broadcast from 4:30 PM AEST.
Their commentators were too busy duscussing the earlier match.

Our Richmond game was on the "30 minute thrillers" last night.

I didn't realize it so much at the time but in the cold light of day (and knowing we won) we got absolutely murdered with the whistle in the last 10 minutes.

- Martin goes for a fend off, gets caught, grabs fyfe in a headlock - play on - ball goes forward for a shot.
- McCarthy picks the ball up and is immediately driven into the ground. Gets a handball out but is pinged HTB. Goes into the f50 for a goal.
- Crozier gets a free kick against for nothing in the f50 which would have iced the game
