Fremantle Dockers coach Justin Longmuir backs WA as an ideal choice to host AFL hubs

Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir has backed WA to play host an AFL hub should the league decide to base teams in different states to get the season back under way.
The AFL is considering a range of option to get the season started again, including having quarantined hubs of teams in different States.
WA Premier Mark McGowan threw support behind the plan last week and even revealed AFL officials had reached out to him.
Under a plan being considered by the AFL and WA Government, players and staff would be based in Perth quarantine zones — comprising hotels and resorts — for eight weeks and undergo weekly testing.
Longmuir told SEN last week he would back all 18 teams playing at one hub in Victoria, but clarified the comments on Monday morning, saying WA would be his “first pick”.
“I did say on radio in Melbourne the other day that I would support 18 teams going to Victoria but that was on the back of getting asked a pretty direct question about one hub hosting 18 teams,” Longmuir told ABC Radio.
“I would only do that if, at the back end of the season, we do get a run of home games.
“I’d love it to play out where Perth hosts a hub, especially if six teams come here.

“Not just an advantage for us, but I just think our community is making some really strong steps forward as a community because of all the great work we’ve done listening to government advice.
“We’re in a really good position as a state to host some teams. I think it would be a really safe place to do it. South Australia and Brisbane are along those lines as well.
“That looks like a really viable option, to use those places that are slightly warmer as well and safer.”
Longmuir said playing in one State for a fixed amount of time might be advantageous to both Fremantle and West Coast.
“I do think the fact that if we play footy in the one spot it would really help the West Australian teams, who have to travel all the time, we’d get to play in the one spot for five or six weeks,” he said.
“Which would be a great result given that usually we’re back and forth every second week.
“It would be interesting to see how our players would adapt to playing footy without having to travel so much.”
Mate we had the best media coach in the business for the last 8 years, didn't get us what we wanted.
Media performance is o/rated, it's like saying all Premiership players are the best players.

Geez people siding with the two-faced media over coaches giving them a bit of stick. Spare Me.
Now you said it. I’ll eat my hat if Collingwood or hawthorn are playing anywhere other than MelbourneGuys lets be honest with ourselves despite all the debate this hub is gonna be in Melbourne. People like eddie, jeff kennett aren't gonna allow it to be any different.
Honestly, the hub should be in Melbourne. I hate the Vic bias and all that, but when you have half the teams in the competition in the one city/state already, it just makes too much sense to have it where they are. Fans can't go along to the games anyway so from that standpoint it makes no difference to me.
Why would they film themselves? Geez footballers can be silly![]()

Exactly, dont they know that only people like Kerry Stokes can flaunt the rulesYeah I've got no sympathy for them here, complete and unadulterated stupidity deserving of disciplinary actions for the stupidity alone.
