I would have expected people to have learnt from the Hawthorn/Clarkson/Mitchell debacle not to trust implicitly the messages that come from the clubs

The messaging, if true, is weird. Why would we bring in Neale and let Lobb go? I mean, I am happy to cash in on Lobb but that same rationale is why I don't want Neale.

If we think Neale is getting us closer to a flag then surely you keep Lobb as he is more likely to contribute in Neale's tenure than a draftee.

Despite Neale being a far superior player, I think Lobb makes us a better team than Neale would if we could only have 1 next year (unless there is a draftee ready to go next year which seems unlikely).

Absolutely. I'm a hard no for Neale.

And I think we should keep Lobb unless its an outstanding deal. Not because I really rate him, but because he sits #2 on our Key Forward depth chart. Which is alarmingly shallow.

I just think that the current Footy Department will be as keen as mustard to get Neale in. And quite happy for Lobb to go.

Its like they want to wipe the 2018 trade period from the club.
