He specifically references first round draft picks. In this case that is 8(10) and probably 6(8). We have no other first rounders so it has nothing to do with Clark. Garlick is smart enough to pick his words carefully.

I'm with Joao. That statement is grounds for thinking we want to bring Neale in. If we didn't want to trade for Neale, it would have been the easiest thing in the world for Garlick to say stuff like:
we are 100% taking our 1st rounders to the draft;
we are only trading for players under 25 to fit our list profile;
for an older players we will only look at free agents, etc

Instead its wishy-washy look for "forward of the ball players" and leave open "compelling" options. Which is an out clause about a mile wide.

See I read that as saying we'll discuss a Neale trade, but any first rounders for this year are off the table. It's all inference, either way.

This is the same Brisbane who had their captain pretend he wasn't going home to Collingwood ALL season including when asked at their B&F about it all the while spending the money for his salary in a deal to get Neale long before then.

They knew, the media knew. Everyone knew. But they still pretended it wasn't happening.
