Well, according to this article we are to become the most populous city by 2056 in which we will have an estimated population of 8 million people. So unless we get some major infrastructure projects happening on our road networks and regional areas/cities are seriously considered for redevelopment of industries (relocation incentives, refugee rehousing etc.), I may check out by then.

Can you imagine if we have our current road network (struggling already) with an added 3.5 million people potentially using it?

Definitely miss that - the buzz around Richmond Station and people stopping in for a few jars before a big Friday night game at the 'G. Or people getting off at Flinders St and the buzz around Fed Square. Plus all the office workers are grabbing Friday beers. Plenty of friendly banter as well. That just doesn't happen over here unfortunately.
