Was a great first quarter, solid/even second quarter. Then that third. When the chips are down and no options, the one and only plan we seem to have is to kick long and hope Pav/Tabs bring it down or at best let the crumbers win the ball. This failed at a time when Freo needed a goal or two to steady the game. Henderson/Mackie/Taylor at times were spare and swooped in for the easy mark.
Is it a confidence thing? The direct kicking and play ons in the first is exactly how the game plan should work. Seriously need to fix on the skills side of things (even a new skills coach etc) and use that as a way forward in that FAST, PLAY ON and kicking into space is the way to go. NOT the bomb it long and high each and every time things get hard. Frustrating especially when it was a close game.

The Ballantyne Rules.

One can push, shove, whack or knock him with out fear of giving away a free kick.
It's ok because he's a villain and anyone that assaults him becomes a national hero. He's a ******* pariah and I don't understand why. Because he's annoying? He's a ******* small forward, it's in the freaking job description. The sad thing is he doesn't actually niggle anymore and his game is worse off for it.

I would add, when we defending inside defensive fifty they had one or extra players behind the ball to swoop on any kick and hope kicks. But Geelong when coming out from the same had even numbers and created an even situation.

That non-call. I almost blew a gasket.

I blew my top over this. And then the Dangerfield goal after the softest free of the night. Meanwhile Walters, Ballas, Tabs and friends, couldn't get a thing, even with being pushed in the back to the ground, blocked etc.

I thought Tabs had it bad tonight. Constantly being held and blocked in marking contests.

Margetts was a f****** disgrace to his profession tonight.
I reckon Tabs intensity has dropped off again cant maintain the rage as soon as he drops off he struggles at AFL level same goes for Crozier it is this middle group of players that really worry me and could lead us to a prolonged spell down the ladder.

Yes the backline V cats had too many other than Stevie you basically can't effectively kick the ball on a consistent basis. ie Gu, Ibbo, Sutty, Spurr & Dawson.
Tommy is reasonable but he had a shocker with his disposal V Cats. Crozier is the only one besides Stevie(who was moved to the midfield second half) who can distribute the ball. I think Ross had Mundy)robbing midfield) than there in stages to help clear D50 effectively.

V Demons and V Cats we look for more potent with Stevie in Midfield and against Suns who have no midfield of note he could cause them a lot of problems.
