Honest question , is Luke Hodge a top 10 performance this year for hawthorn , so is Sam Mitchell and Lewis last year , sometime a player need to do the team thing . Whether moving to coaching or playing less game to allow smooth transition. Is like telling players outside 22 that there is a spot open up during next pre season and they should fight for it .

Yeah fair enough if they have brains. Mean't more he's not going to get a football role, his profile wouldn't seem to fit. I was comparing him to Mitchell, Lewis and Hodge as per the previous question. Those 3 could walk into any club and get a gig. Spurr could probably walk into Peel and enquire... and that's about it.

Obviously if he has work lined up after footy thats non footy related then good for him.

Nobody knows , I will agree with you if him and spurr not playing and freo get trash by GC at home . Throwing youth against GwS or Adelaide kind of attacking side really suck ball without any chemistry build in pre season. How many time hamling and Collins play together without Johnson,spurr and ibbo around and freo get beaten by 100 point .

I know this is the melt thread but the reason Buckly gets more shit is they traded in Wells and Mayne because they were supposedly tilting for a premiership. The narrative around Freo is that they are rebuilding and never really considered a finals chance.
