The Midfield

It was like 2 in the morning and i was depressed about the Beams news.

Baring injury, and if we can sign Clark, i think our Backline could be our strength in 2015.

Im just worried about the midfield.
haha it is a little depressing but on the assumption that we retain beams or get Dangerfield. Swan gets anywhere near full fitness, the emergence of Freeman and Broomhead and the progression of Fasolo and Elliott into the midfield I don't think that it's as bad as we think

Big ask for a lot of moaning minnies on here.
Unfortunately, there is quite a bit to moan about. If I was where you are in the world, I wouldn't care quite so much. In winter in Melbourne, there's the footy and not much more. In one way and another, our side has been decimated this year.

on the assumption we lose beams and gain Dangerfield. can you imagine pendles dishing out to either side of the body to a dashing Dangerfield and Freeman. we will break games wide open
After this year's run of serious injuries, Freeman has a long way to go before he is rivaling Dangerfield for Pendlebury's attention. As for Dangerfield, he is but a dream enjoyed only by the most optimistic and desperate of our supporters.

I want to see Kyle Martin get a really good opportunity, personally I rate him highly and I was shocked he didn't get the nod near the end when we struggled to find a fit 22.

Fas loves to take centre stage in front of the camera, now to take centre stage on the footy field

Other names to add to the.mid rotation...in addition to those mentioned earlier.
Ben Ken
Goldy
Kmart (he may finally get his opportunity)
Dwyer
Whoever Hine picks in the draft.

Losing Beams is a disaster but I'm confident it'll help us discover a new mid gun. Remember, Beams only really became elite when Ball got his ACL in 2012.

Up until now I thought trading Fasolo was a good idea but with Beams leaving he has the opportunity to step up and play more of a role in the Midfield.

Without seeing a whole lot of your reserves & seniors sides, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Tim Broomhead move quickly and swiftly into a midfielder.

Smart, skilled and a player with great game sense. I'd love to see him go from bit parts flanker to midfielder rotation in 2015 and who knows in 2016.

Broomhead and Freeman need to be fast tracked into here stat. They will give us some much needed pace around the contest.

I wouldn't be against throwing Marsh in there for a trial, apparently played his junior footy in there and his size would be a weapon around the ball.

I hope that the midfield group looks a little different after trade week.

We have a real opportunity with the Beams trade to secure a couple of talented midfielders with already a couple of years development under their belt.

Our midfield will lack the real top end talent we've enjoyed in recent time but at least we can alleviate our midfield depth problems.

Sidebottom needs to play more as a midfielder than an outside runner. Karnezis, Broomhead, Kennedy, Freeman and Fasolo are the great unknowns who could fizzle or really add something. Broomhead and Kennedy I have faith in, but the other three have potential too.

Bit early to Write off Freeman who is a Top 10 Pick

I think the problem with our midfield is we don't have players like Dale Thomas, Sharrod Wellingham and Alan Didak. They could play on the ball on the wing and kick goals up forward. We've replaced them with players that can't spend as much time in the midfield. In turn what that has done is forced Beams and Sidebottom to have more midfield time. It means that 2 high half forward/midfielders who a really dangerous when playing up forward are now pure midfielder that. I can garentee in a premiership team they'd be former and not the latter.

And now with Beams leaving ****s up everything.
