Kinda defeats the purpose of vinyl though listening through bluetooth.
In what sense? It’s still sounds exactly the same, it’s just played through the headphones rather than some terrible in built speakers.

You're playing through the bluetooth connection, the quality will depend on your headphones. IE if you have BOSE headphones, it will sound great, as opposed to a cheaper brand for instance.

It's essentially the same as listening to something on Spotify through your headphones.

The Strokes, War on Drugs, Genesis Owusu, The Presets on the Saturday...

Wolf Alice's latest album The Clearing came out on Friday. Wasn't sure how I felt on the first listen but enjoyed it a lot more on the second. The three singles are great and The Sofa is an excellent closer, but Just Two Girls is a stand out to me:

If you haven't already got them I would recommend a good external amp and speakers. You don't have to pay a fortune.

But to me, vinyl isn't about the sound quality - it's about the whole vibe. If you have friends or family over they can browse through your collection and pick something out - so listening to it becomes a shared experience. You get the cover art and often an insert with lyrics and photographs.

Well said Frank. I'll be honest and admit the ear damage from my youth (damn you Dinosaur Jr at the Palace in 96!) has meant I probably couldn't pass the Pepsi challenge on different sources these days. However, the act of placing a record on the turntable and dropping the needle, holding the sleeve and reading notes means I engage much more with the music than hours of ended steaming that fades into the background.

The lineup on Friday is great. Saturday, not so much.

Considered going over for it but not sure we will be able to swing it having just been overseas for near a month.

New Mansionair singles are really good, looking forward to their show and new album in a few weeks.

The War On Drugs only doing Harvest and no other side shows is disappointing. I know they were here in 2023 but you’d think they could have done Melbourne and Sydney as well.

New Wednesday album is also really good.
