Been watching Les Norton recently.
Not bad, easy watch, bit patchy.
Vaguely recall reading one of the books years ago and was surprised to see this relatively old series pop up on Netflix, where it is one of the top ten show currently.
I was a big fan of the Robert G Barrett 'Les Norton' books back in the late-80's/early 90's. The first couple "You Wouldn't Be Dead For Quids" and "The Real Thing" were fantastic, but they gradually declined as the author began to run short of original gags.

By about book #5 or #6 they became pretty homogenous, but just set in a different location (usually where Barrett had probably just recently been for a holiday).

For years we cried out for a television/movie adaptation, but unfortunately when it finally arrived it got the typical half-arsed Australian comedy treatment, more often than not cringey and a bit short in the belly laugh division. Me and a few mates often threw around names of actors who'd make a decent Les - the bloke they settled on certainly wasn't one of them.

If only the producers/writers had watched Mr In-Between first, as Les and his mates should've been far more of the Ray Shoesmith ilk than how they turned out.

I'll have to give it another chance as I was a bit disappointed and probably rage-dumped it after just a couple of eps the first time.

I watched about 20 minutes of the first episode and bailed. It was just so cringe. It was like watching some throwback to the 70s ocker Australian crap. Surely we've evolved as a country past this kind of crap. I was half expecting Barry McKenzie to make an appearance.

It's only 5 years old.

And have you seen the Australian version of The Office?

Unfortunately we do still make crap like this.

Some of their biggest top 10 shows seem to be proof that they are struggling to make genuine Top 10 Shows.

Untold: Liver King.

Pretty meh. Feel sorry for his kids having to eat raw testicles. So happy to grow up in the household I did. It was obvious he was on steroids, not sure why people were surprised.

I watched the Untold Brett Favre doco. It was alright. Lost me a little by the end when they went into his post-career antics.

Seems like he got away with a whole bunch of stuff because of how good he was.
Watched this today.

Great athlete. Shit human.

I just watched this today while I was having lunch. Pretty shit bloke by the looks of it who got away with a lot of dodgy crap because he was white and an All-Star NFL player. That's America for you, unfortunately. I especially feel for Jenny Sterges, who did nothing wrong other than being attractive. The feeling I get from Favre is he doesn't give a crap about who he hurts when it comes to getting what he wants. That kind of behaviour is sociopathic.

Been watching The Eternaught, an Argentinian sci-fi series, and it's actually been pretty good.
Thanks for the recommendation. I'm 4 episodes in and really enjoying it.
