Currently watching The Frozen Dead (2017), only one season, French, set in the Pyrénées, Started watching it after The Valhalla Murders, continuing my theme of watching crime mystery suspense shows

Valhalla murders is not bad.
The English dubing is kinda funny.but still better than sub titles tho.

I think I hated Carol the most of the lot following watching it.

She just wants to own the whole industry, she is no better than the others, just masquerades as some sort of wild life savior, yet still charges a shitload for tours, locks up the animals and uses free labour to manage the park.


That's without taking into account the husband rumours.

I've since read she's thrown a hissy fit with the Netflix producers as to how she's been portrayed, which makes me incredibly happy.

Joe has since filed a $90m lawsuit against Netflix


Netflix has portrayed them all as bad guys, which is only a good thing moving forward awakening the general public, the USA politicians etc.

Just finished The Frozen Dead, thought is was a good series, If you like The Valhalla Murders you like this, similar feel and themes, also some twists in the show

Just Binge watched Deadwind, thought it was very good, albeit little slow at times, but overall worth watching if you like crime thriller mysteries like I do.

Pihla Viitala lead actress in the show who was very good, Remember her from one particular scene in Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters, with Jeremy Renner, initially didn’t recognise her with her hair colour

Now I will have to find another one to watch, gone through all the ones I wanted to watch

If you liked The Circle i would suggest you watch the Brazilian Circle. I am finding it way better than the US version, better cast, very funny and they are using Survivor type strategy to get through

I'm only a few episodes through, as it's in Portuguese, I need to pay attention more to the subtitles which is annoying.

The French one comes out in the next couple of days.

Probably a bit late to the party, but watched the first two eps of Giri/Haji last night. I've been struggling to really get into any serious dramas lately, but with this one I was all in after about 20 minutes. Love the pacing, love the feel. Can't wait to jump back in tonight. Plus, Kelly Macdonald and her accent

I praised Giri/Hagi on the UK TV shows thread (of course it was on BBC here in the UK, not Netflix). I liked it a lot. Sharp, witty, different. Hardly plausible, but if you don't mind overlooking that...

On another matter, I am amazed that you guys have TV shows dubbed into English, I thought it was only the French who did that (French TV is full of US cop shows, badly dubbed into French). I haven't watched anything dubbed since old Jackie Chan movies in the 70s! Sub-titles vastly better for me, although I can see some people can't get on with them.

Once you get in the rhythm or the subtitles, you don't even notice you're reading them and it's far less distracting than dubbed voices not matching the mouth movements and mannerisms of the actors on screen. The added benefit is that my wife puts down her laptop and stops working while the show is on (and doesn't keep asking what just happened).
