Must be some mistake...’must see’ and reality shows don’t go together.

I thought it'd be good to have a thread dedicated to talking about shows you're watching on Netflix at the moment, but don't really want to start a whole thread about. A general discussion thread for ANY show on Netflix, not just ones made for the channel.

I'll start off with a new show called 'Sex Education" about a teen who starts giving sex advice to his high school colleagues because his mother (Gillian Anderson) is a sex therapist and he knows a lot about the subject. The irony of a virgin 15yo giving sex advice is priceless, and the show is very funny, and really isn't shy of showing the nitty gritty of teenage love and sex and it's problems. The characters are on the money, from the weird sex therapist mother, to the gay best friend, to the crush. I highly recommend this one.

Anything got your interest on Netflix currently?

S2 just dropped and I'm very happy, episode 1 picks up right where it left off.

The OA somehow got even more weirder in season 2. The finale had me laughing at the audacity of it all.

Understood very little of it, but it's a shame there won't be anymore episodes*. As strange as it all was, tv needs more of that not less.

*officially cancelled, but not gonna rule out it comes back with a surprise drop in like the middle of season 5 of the Crown or something...

For a reality show it's really good.

I don't always get into reality but this one's worth it.

I wouldn’t say it’s must watch either.
But it does have a different element to it that other reality tv shows don’t have. And it’s something most of us can relate to.

Recently watched the 3 newish documentaries on Netflix. Don't **** With Cats, The Devil Next Door and The Mind of Aaron Hernandez.
All very good and insightful. The Devil Next Door probably the most fascinating and well done for me.

Starting this tonight...

" Killer Inside " About professional NFL player Aaron Hernandez who was a dominate player for the New England Patriots for a few years but a complete nutcase. I remember it like yesterday when all this went down as i am an an avid NFL follower and was shocked. He is also the only person in US history that has committed a murder and then gone on and played sport at a professional level after it for a full season.

It is getting awesome reviews and it is a 3 part documentary on the true events that unfolded for a bloke that had it all and pissed away shortly after signing a 40 million dollar contract as well.
Will watch the final episode tonight. Been good watching so far. His name rings a bell and pretty sure i know how it ends, still intriguing to watch

We just finished the final episode last night and in all I was a little underwhelmed by it, to be honest. I mean, it's by no means a bad documentary, but it just didn't grab me the way other true crime shows or podcasts have (for anyone not aware of it, Hunting Warhead podcast is fantastic!). Maybe it's because he seemed to bring so much of it onto himself by his wannabe gangster lifestyle.

Last night was browsing my Netflix and decided to click on this doco series called 'Cheer' following the trials and tribulations of a group of elite college cheerleaders and their coach in a small Texas town over a season of them trying to win the college championship. Smashed 4 episodes of it. Quality show.
Sometimes it pays off clicking on stuff you initially have little to no interest in. My exposure to the sport of cheerleading is that i've seen the movie 'Bring it on' and I was unaware it was taken so seriously and had such a gymnastic and high performance approach.
Very intense show and full of drama. Some of the routine and training footage is something else and the insights into the characters personal lives and struggles they're going through is powerful stuff.

That one looks really interesting, but like you, not something that I would've thought would be up my alley. I was reading an interview with the director (I think), who said that they had never come across another group of athletes that put their bodies through as much as competitive cheerleaders do. It's apparently VERY different to sports cheerleading (i.e. girls in tight clothes with pom poms).

Anyone else use a Telstra TV Roku type Box to access Netflix?

Only asking because i have one and you can add Apps to it and i stumbled across an App called Tubi TV in the App store and it is like a poor mans version of Netflix so to speak depending on your own tastes but gee there is some great older shows on there that can be classified more as B grade types but also cult following films etc. Best of all it is 100% free and while some on the Internet people complain about Adds i have watched over 10 movies and even more documentaries and have not had an add break yet....... It is set up exactly like Netflix is when you open the App up regarding layout and genres of the TV you may want to watch or search for.

Well worth a look and adding the App if you can as i am finding myself going to Tubi first before Netflix these days!

One has to wonder how long it does actually stay a free streaming service for though but it is free for now.

Watched all 3 episodes last night - going in i didnt really know what it was about, some killer but that was it. First episode i was thinking 'WTF is this shit, a cat killer.... '. But then it took off. Had me pretty enthralled. Was a good watch, thought the ending was pretty shit though. I enjoyed it overall but the missus hated it and thought it was shithouse/boring
