Fred and Rose West doco is creepy
Isn't it? What an absolutely revolting disgusting duo they were.

Will never forget when this happened & how it just got worse & worse everyday.

And we'll never know how many more deaths they were responsible for.

It wasn't abundantly clear but the suggestion was that she was the Lady Macbeth controlling character

She definitely wasn't ignorant of what was happening or a non participant.

I'd say they both had power over each other during their relationship. And it was a fact he was murdering and raping before he'd met her. And have you read about her early childhood? She was always a monster too.

Just an abhorrent coupling.

How horrible for their children, not sure how anyone deals with that type of lived experience.

I watched the first episode of that and it seemed a touch voyeuristic. There didn't seem to be anything new in it and it felt like it was there mostly to shock.
It was shocking. I also read a book about them. I wondered if there were any more girls who were never found.

Hearing Fred talk in those police interview tapes was interesting (and the reason for this Doco). But what they did was just so gross and disgusting. What those poor girls went through before their deaths is some of the most evil shit humans can do. And Rose was in it up to the eyeballs, there's no doubt about that.

The show glossed over the details of what the victims must have endured in their final hours. Some of the sickest stuff I've ever heard of. It was the perfect storm of evil. Two ****ed up individuals, who collaborated to abduct, torture, sexually abuse and kill young women and girls, including members of their own family.

The court case got messy when the witnesses were getting paid for their stories by the press. Janet Leach, the trainee social worker who served as Fred West's appropriate adult, was an unpaid volunteer. £100,000 from the Daily Mirror must have been enticing, but it could have ruined the prosecution's case against Rose.

Appropriate Adult dramatised Janet Leach's story. Dominic West was chilling as Fred.

I didn't think it needed a blow-by-blow description of what these poor girls went through. I thought the series began on the presumption that people watching it already knew the details (or at least could look them up). The purpose of the series was to reveal what Fred was saying to the police at the time via the tapes and an examination of the police investigation into the murders. It wasn't an examination of the psyches of Fred & Rose and what and why they did it.

also seen the fred/rosemary doc. reasonably aware of what happened without knowing the nitty gritty. didn't really need to watch it but that's kind of what these shows are, pay a tamed visit to the mind of some sicko from your couch while you figure out what you'd rather watch instead.

We're down to the last two episodes of House. :persevere: I'm gonna miss it when it's over.
We've just started the second last season.

I'm with you on that. Very formulaic show obviously but I think it's done very well with a good mix of cast members.

Finally got around to watching Senna, really enjoyed it.

Although it did make me realise I still associate Kaya Scodelario as Effy from Skins...
