If Subi wasn't a sub-par shithole and the only reason for the new stadium was a capacity increase, then maybe. But it was, and that's the whole point of the new stadium.

If we are just using population, which is your call. Doesn't it make more sense to have more teams in Sydney, which has 3 million more people or SEQ, which has 1 million more people than Perth?

I think you are just using raw population. Read what I said "Perth, A FOOTBALL CITY, has over 2 million people".

Sydney is not a football city. GWS exists on AFL money. Who knows how long it'll take to support itself. That's the multi million $$ question. Yet people talk about a 3rd team!!! It also has 9 NRL teams all soaking up sponsorship & media attention. SEQ is clearly struggling to support the 2 teams it has.

Maitenance on Subiaco would have been going through the roof. Last five years they have let it all go because of the new stadium. Probably 15-20k. Seats are terminal at the ground

Will this be the smallest crowd at Perth Stadium yet? They aren’t opening the top tier and the lower two tiers are open as general admissions so you can sit anywhere.

Anyone else going, since kids under 16 are free when attending with an adult purchased general admission ticket?

I'm going with the kids. Reckon they can crack 20,000 with the good weather and opportunity to have a kick on the ground after. They got 18,000 last year in diabolical weather, though they sold it hard as the last grand final at Subi.

West Perth are one of the better supported clubs, but Subi has got no fans. And it's expected to be a walkover.

If they get 25k then that's a brilliant result. Probably would have been low teens at Subi.
