3 games we should win. Melbourne at the MCG is a tough ask, and Geelong away and Brisbane home are at best 50/50 games.

3 wins is ok, hopefully we get 4.

Geelong at Skilled
North at Home
Sun at MS
Collingwood at Home

Melbourne at MCG
Brisbane at home

The next 3 games all look winnable. Carlton at home will be a challenge.

Hawks at home
Carlton at Marval
Port at home
I can see Freo squeeze a narrow win vs Brisbane at home and be 8-4 after 12 games.

We do that, very likely to get a finals spot at 5th-8th

Woah, some pretty big calls going on!

I did put a lazy 100 on top 4 and 50 on the premiership this year after round 1.

We make the 4 with a cherry ripe Fyfe ready to go full beast mode for finals games, we are a white hot chance.

If fyfe gets back even close to his best and fresh for the second half of the season then things look very good.

Even less attention on Brayshaw.

Yeah, I think people forget how many games we've won through Fyfe's sheer force of will. I know he's a bit banged up, but there's no one else I'd rather on the field to stop a team getting a run on, or enforcing our own dominance, even if he can only do it for a quarter. What's great is Brayshaw is beginning to show similar traits too.

I love Brayshaw he is everything the club needs to lead us into the future.

He's the perfect role model for our young guys.

My predictions:

  • Geelong: tight loss, but win a few friends
  • North: Big win
  • Gold Coast: Tight win (tighter than we probably think going in)
  • Pies: Comfortable win at Optus

At this stage, we're 8-2, so confidence will be high so I think we go 1-1 against the best two teams in the league:

  • Demons at G: A 3-4 goal loss - but that's simply because they are that much ahead of the comp and will want to put us back in our box.
  • Lions at Optus: A nail biting win, simply because we're at home.
  • Hawks at Optus: 3-4 goal win

So 10-3 at the bye. Which sets us up beautifully.

Carlton at Marvel after the bye is a danger game. They will be two games post bye and I just don't trust us to win on the road after a week off; so I think the rest of the season sees us go:

  • Carlton away: A frustrating loss
  • Port at home: A reasonably comfortable win after being close to 3/4 time
  • Saints away: Unfortunately, I think we get doubled by the Saints because they play Marvel really well
  • Swans at home: A great game and close win - with the team I expect us to have our biggest rivalry with over the next 5-6 years.
  • Tigers in Melbourne: They're done and it's at Marvel so I think we comfortably win
  • Demons at Optus: I think this will be game of the year and I'm tipping us to win a shootout - and this will be the Demons only H&A loss for the year
  • Bulldogs at Marvel: At this stage we are flying and what the weekend just gone showed us is that we don't need to fear a team that has a very strong midfield but a suspect back line. Another win
  • Eagles at home: A record win for us in the Derby
  • GWS away in Canberra: I think we lose a game in what will be Cameron's last game in charge of the Giants.

So, we finish 16-6, which will put us 3rd to 5th on the ladder behind the Demons (21-1) and Lions (18-4). I expect the Saints and Swans also to finish around here and there to be a three game gap to sixth on the ladder.

Starting to feel confident. Which is not always a good thing.

Still go with 3:3 resulting in 8:4. Hopefully can take a scalp but will drop winnable one as well.

9:3 really would probably completly convince me we are the real deal for top 4 contention. When we are competive in our losses.

PS After round 12 we will have a getter judgement where teams are at anyway. Similar to our ladder position I am also unconvinced about Carlton's and St. Kilda's current positions. So have no real idea yet if a win and a close loss are something to be excited about or not.

16 games to go . To achieve 14 wins which should give us a home final we need 9 more wins. Means we can lose 7 of the 16 . 8 home games . Win most of those and pinch a couple on the road . It's not a given but it's certainly achievable. Heart says yeh baby, head says whoa , you know anything can happen.
7 wins out of the 16 to finish in the eight should be done and dusted.

BUMP

I didn't think we could beat the cats.

Now think we will be 9-3 after 12.

The Squiggle is now officially high on us as well.

I was honestly content with going 1-3 for the last 3 weeks. Going 3-0 is ******* mental, top 8 a lock, top 4 the next aim to lock away

I expected us to drop off a bit and think the Gold Coast game will be tough. I am looking forward to playing Brisbane here as we have seemed to match up with them well. Even discussing locking away top four is so far from where I thought we would be. The Brisbane game is huge in that respect. It becomes an 8 point game.

All this with Fyfe, Darcy, Tabs, Chappy and Young to find their way into the team.

3 - 0 would see us at 8 - 1. We should win at least half of the remaining fixture... ~14 wins should be on the cards. Bloody hell what is going on!

10-2 should be the aim.

Win the next 3 winnable ones and jag a win against either Melbourne or Brisbane.

If we get Brisbane we will be 9 wins 3 losses. I think.

8 -4 with 3 wins and 3 losses next 6.
Not a bad outcome. Got a tough 2nd half of the season. The last 5 or so games are brutal.

Beating Geelong in Geelong was very good

I had Geelong as a loss.

Last 5 games not too bad.
Hopefully gws, bulldogs and Richmond out of finals.
At the moment we would win 4 of the games.

I now see us entering round 11 at 9-1. Rounds 11 (Melbourne) & 12 Brisbane) will define if we are a top 4 team or a premiership contender.

I think our game plan stands up but team is still young and building. I'm predicting an away loss against the Dees (reality check) and a home win against the Lions. So 10-2 at the end of round 12.
