Although the loss to Richmond is disappointing. We are playing better than we did in Round 1.

We are 3-3. If you asked supporters before the season, if they would be happy with 3-3, most would have said yes. I believe the next 6 games will define our season.

We are versing Lions after 2 games in 4 days, and they’re going to be very keen for their first win.

We then verse Geelong, who we have a good recent record against.

Saints and Dogs at Ethiad is not fun. We play “okay” at Ethiad, but both those teams play much better at Ethiad, in comparison to anywhere else in the country.

Fremantle and Melbourne at the G are going to be very interesting games. 3 teams probably fighting for the last couple of spots within the 8.

We should aim for 5-1, but 4-2 wouldn’t be the worst outcome.

We should beat Brisbane. It’s a danger game, but we should get the chocolates.

Geelong at the moment are a poor team. I didn’t rate them at the start of the season. I don’t rate them now. If we play the way we have been, we should beat them.

WB & Saints, the danger games IMO. I think we will lose one of these games unfortunately. We just struggle at Ethiad. Think we might struggle against the Dogs.

Fremantle is an interesting game. I believe our home ground advantage gives us a helping hand. Obviously their midfield is fantastic. Probably in the top 3 best midfields in the competition.

Melbourne is a mixed bag. If we get the Melbourne that hawthorn got, we should win. They’re a bit inconsistent, but might turn up for their grand final (queens birthday).

Our midfield needs to improve dramatically. I wouldn’t be against bringing in Sier, if Adams isn’t ready this week. We have been smashed in Contested possessions and clerances( last 2 games). Our defence has been holding up well, but we need to help them out by winning more clerances. We are 3-3 on Inside 50’s too. We also only average 45% when we enter into 50.

Overall, I hope we can play Wells, Moore, Elliot, Adams, Fasolo, Sier, Crocker, Mclarty and Daicos over the next period. You don’t think Aish or Reid would be back anytime soon.

I don’t think we would be unhappy with a 7-5 start, but would much prefer 8-4. Especially because we verse Carlton, GCS and Essendon straight after our bye. I see us winning maybe 6-7 in the second half of the season.

This 6 weeks we need to do better than breakeven. What do you see as the danger games? I think the Ethiad games are the danger ones. The rest should be at least 70-30 in our favour.

I think if the competition has shown us anything this year, its that looking to far ahead can prove detrimental to the present.

Any side can beat any other side on any given day.

Its cliche'd - but in all serious lets just take it week by week.

I do agree. However, when you’re 3 hours in on a Monday and still sad about the loss from yesterday, and missing finals for too many years. The mind starts to wander.

With the draw ahead and Wells, Adams, Elliott and Moore to return, we are a great chance of a top 4 berth.

The first quarter of the year was the most difficult and we went 3-3 with a positive percentage. I think we all would have accepted that gratefully if it was offered to us after round 1. 5-1 over the next 6 will consolidate nicely.

Yes 3-3 and would have taken it. I believe it is 'better' than 3-3 having won in Adelaide against the Crows. May end up being an 8 point game that one. Not only did we win but most teams will go there and lose.

Just need to not give that win back with a loss to Lions, Blues etc.

If you look at the ladder we've already played four of the top five sides in the first 6 rounds,so it has been a tough draw for us so far.The draw does look very good from this point on,but as others have said, you can't take any game for granted these days.Even the Brisbane game next week is a danger game for us.

Agree. Any game a danger game, but I do like that our next 9 games are against teams currently outside the 8 (as we are too).

15 games to go - we only have 5 of them against teams that finished in last year's 8.

Very good point about the Adelaide game. You would be surprised if they lost to anyone there, apart from port.

Very good point. Even if we lose all 5. We still make finals on 13 wins.

after our recent history we haven't earned the right to look at games in 6 week blocks. If we lose 4 out of the next 6 it'll be no different to the last 4 years. Like the others are saying, 1 game at a time for teams like us.

If I was a player, part of the coaching staff or believed that my optimistic brain waves could have some sort of negative effect on the fortunes of the Pies, then yes, I would be more conservative.

But in the absence of any of the above factors, I am dreaming BIG! Top 4 here we come!

I don't see any reason why CFC can't win the next 6. Geelong game will be a real test and top of the dung heap. Melbourne followed by Western Bulldogs next most difficult. Playing Fremantle in Melbourne is a win.

The only teams who are better than us are the cats who we usually beat so we should be able to win all 6.

This weeks game is our biggest game of the year as far as I'm concerned.

It just reeks of a danger game. After 2 blockbuster games within 4 days, these are the sort of games where a team can come out flat. At 0-6, the Lions don't have much to lose. If we are feeling the effects of the week prior, then it could be trouble.

That's why I'd like to see us bring back as many fresh guys this week as possible. Varcoe, Moore and Adams I would hope, but I'd also like Fasolo and Wells if fit. Need some fresher legs. The VFL boys had a bye so they should be rearing to go.

We also need to keep an eye on Zorko. He is stinking it up right now, and is copping some heat from the media. We need to sit on him and tag him hard. Don't want him to spark back into form.

You and the club think alike, all CFC is thinking about is brisbane - nothing else.

Ok can ppl stop saying we should win all 6. Its not gonna happen. We are a middle of the road team. To go on that sort of streak you'd be looking at a top 3 or 4 team.

IMO one of the biggest factors in our run of missing finals is how badly we do against those other teams in the 6-12 range. We generally compete well against the top 4 or 6, and sneak in one or 2 wins. We also generally hold up well, as we should, against the bottom 4-6.
But we lose more than our share of games against those other teams vying for a finals position - and those become 8 point losses effectively.

So far, i would say the Hawthorn and Essendon games were in that range. 50/50 is passable from those two. The win over Carlton should have been expected. And going 1-2 (and competive bar 30-40mins in the 2 losses) against 3 of last years top 4 is better than par.
I am very happy with 3-3 just because it shows that the floor hasnt collapsed.

These next 6 are important - because outside of Brisbanr and Geelong (who really should be top 6) the rest are all potential "8 point games" at the end of the season.
6-0 is not gonna happen. 5-1 would be great, 4-2 good, and 3-3 just acceptable (but with questions being asked). These are all teams around our level. (Though hopefully we show that we are a rung above most of them).

Exactly. I look at that list and think it wouldnt be right out of line to lose any of those games except maybe Brisbane (and it looks like injuries may scalp us anyway there)
