Given how this went down, we must have someone lined to take over and it can't be an unproven coach. We sacked Sando and we are on the hook for over $1m to pay him out. You don't do that unless

a) You are replacing him with a proven winner OR
b) He completely lost the playing group

I doubt its b but who knows. If its Goodwin I will absolutely lose it. Talk about the job for the boys.

Whether you love him, or hate him, truth is, Sando has been set up to fail by the club in the last 2 seasons. I am wondering if those that signed off on his extension 12 months ago will get sacked as well? Talk about pissing the money down the drain (along with paying for Lawyers to get our ass kicked by the AFL in the Tippettgate)

I agree with you 100%, doing this to bring Goodwin in as coach would turn our club into a laughing stock. The circumstances in which Sanderson was sacked are almost unprecendented and I believe that it's too bold of a move to make just to take a punt on a rookie coach. For the credibility of the club I am praying that we have a high profiled coach lined up for 2015.

Bassett has to be a chance.

Give him the head coach role with a big name senior assistant coach.

He turned Norwood around in 12 months from 8th to a Grand Final and within a kick of the Centrals juggernaut of 2010. In his 4 yrs we finished 2nd, 3rd, 1st, 1st. Bass turned the whole club upside down and had U18s,Reserves and League players playing the same way. In our two premiership years we went 39 wins and 5 losses. Not even Centrals did that.

I know the AFL is a big step up from the SANFL but with quality help Nathan could coach us to a flag in 2 or 3 years.

If Fagan is true to his word in getting the best people in the right spots, they need to sit Clarkson down and lay some big numbers on the table. Break contracts and pay them out, just get it done! Failing that do the same to Longmire, how good would it be to steal Sydney's coach!
