Can't see crows appointing ex-power players as coaches. It's just the mentality of people in crows management, ex-players and fans.
Tend to agree. Yet, down the road, Pittman, Rehn, Edwards. I know we're not talking head coaches with those three but have we ever had a Port linked assistant?

Given Adelaide is a small market and supposedly difficult to attract quality interstate candidates it is a surprise.

Well he did say the guy would hold the cup up, did he pick Hawthorn or Sydney ??

Doesn't matter much, neither Clarko or Horse are coming here and if they do well...... we best visit our nearest bakery for pie of the humble variety. That is after we visit AFC Headquarters with 47 kegs to celebrate their new found fortitude

Mark Thompson linked to the SUNS.

McKenna will be sacked this week.

Like I said earlier

Thompson happy to replace McKenna after being sacked whilst still under contract however he criticises our club for sacking Sando in the same manner as a result of a list season review

We now know where Sando developed his double standards

This is what Croweater78 first posted:

Our new coach will be coaching in the GF this year. He will win the cup and be at Adelaide a week or 2 later.

Watch this space.

You will all be shocked.

We had an open cheque book and we have used it.

So do you still stand by this?

So there we go. Confirmation that according to you our next head coach is indeed Alistair Clarkson.

That still covers the assistants for both teams as well, therefore Bolton,Dew or Ratten as well.

I actually don't want Horse

Paul Roos built the club and it's culture and handed over they keys to Horse who has maintained the status quo, the Swans game has not changed that much under Horse

Yes he has won a flag however I'm not convinced that he could do it at another club

Shit, I thought I was alone in this line of thinking. I wasnt brave to say it, but yep I dont disagree one bit.

In fact I would take one step further and say, I would rather Bassett over Horse.

I remember when Roos wanted out of fitzroy. Robert Shaw was coach here, Roos decided we were his preference. Fitzroy wouldn't deal with us, as they saw Adelaide/ expansion sides the reason their going under. So Roos was picked up by Sydney.

Still bloody hurts that..

Really? If it wasnt for Shaw's incompetence it wouldnt have led to Blight which...........97 and 98.

If longmires not looking upset, he has his hand over his mouth going off his nut at his assistants in the box. Perhaps leave that alone.

Not alone. Bassett with an experienced assistant is pretty much my preferred option. He has been the #1 man before, and he took the club from crap to flag, he didn't inherit a flag winning team.

Longmire = Chris Scott.

With Goodwin to Melbourne, Thompson to Gold Coast, Hird to Drug Bans…will Bassett be the 'right man standing' at ESSENDON :cry:

If we want Bassett, he will come to us ahead of the Dons easily as long as the contracts are in the same ballpark.

Could you explain this?
He is highly strung, has had a premiership winning list passed to him and hasn't built one from the ground up as previous posters have said. He didn't have a plan b yesterday. Nobody could have maybe. Just saying maybe leave him out of crows coach contention.
