Hogan is technically a first year player, debut this year, will shit on stringer in 3 years, reads the game better, better hands, better kick NEXT

The difference is that Hogan spent his final year before being AFL-selection eligible training with AFL players and getting AFL coaching and development and playing at a decent level in the VFL.
Stringer spent his final year recovering from a broken leg and getting his fitness base back up to scratch.

Which is why he fell through to pick 5 instead of going 1 or 2 wasn't it?

Talk about twisting/deliberately lying things to suit yourself.

Stringer - 38 games in 2.5 seasons on an AFL senior list

Hogan - 10 games in 1.5 seasons on an AFL senior list

But nah they've both had equal opportunity with 3 years in the system :drunk:

Hogan was on Melbourne list as a 17yr old and played the year at casey seniors. He was training fulltime at the club so how am i talking shit.

Predictably tore our undermanned, underaged and underexperienced defence a new one.

So with a controlled response I think we should give him the Brownlow, Coleman and Rising Star and put him just below Gary Ablett Jr/Snr at least until next years Brownlow/Coleman combo.

Yes because we had a majorly experienced forward line. What was it 1 player over 50 games?

I would take an inexperienced yet structurally sound forward line over what ours was: A ruck who cant play forward, a kid coming back from injury, a few small forwards and...well, thats it.

Hogan has spent just as long on an AFL list although he wasn't eligible to play in the first year. He's trained for just as long with an AFL side. Both have had injury issues, though Jake's was a lot more serious.

What was with BT screaming out "The Package" at every chance he would? He saw Stringer in the shower or something?

Someone really needs to tell commentators that it puts viewers off, and has them disliking the player. I was sitting there liking what I saw, but after awhile I was hating it each time Stringer got the ball because of the reasons you mentioned. I simply grew tired of BT's sense of self importance and his childishness.

I'd never heard of Jake Stringer before yesterday, but now I hate him.

Stringer has played 38 games himself -he's hardly experienced so you should have been able to match him in that regard.

It's not his fault he is so talented

You're dead right, either our 3 game or 2 game defenders in Bourke and Beasley should have had him covered.

By that logic our 3rd gamer Joel Hamling and 14th gamer Fletcher Roberts should have been absolutely slaughtered by their significantly more experienced defenders.

They were playing in a FUNCTIONAL forwardline. Our backline had two players in it, one returning from injury, that you'd consider "experienced" thanks to an extensive injury list.

This was our backline:

B: Jordon Bourke, Justin Clarke, Hugh Beasley
HB: Tom Cutler, Marco Paparone, Pearce Hanley

Its not surprising you won by 10+ goals.

He's nothing like Ablett Snr. Nothing.
Nope, there's definitely a comparison there. Both kick goals through a combination of set shots, freakish snaps/bananas, and smashing it home 50+ out on the weaker foot. Their bodies are also similar; both have a lot of strength in the hips and the same sloped shoulders, which help them bulldoze through a lot of tackles.

Of course we all know why you're deluding yourself into believing otherwise.

Well in that case Akermanis was the closest to Ablett Snr.
