I used to play with Finno, he was easily the best player in our rep team...there are two AFL clubs that should have persisted with him.

Aussie is correct.
If the actual bump brings in relevant information and encourages further discussion, I don't really see a problem with it. Only really clutter when it's not needed, otherwise it wouldn't make a difference if it was an old thread or a new one. It's interesting to see past observations anyway. Khan's thread expands on this.
It's also a stale one, where the bump is not even relevant to the original topic. Pretty open and shut case here.
