If Russia has control enough over Ukraine to be able to implement that kind of NFZ, it means they've successful overthrown a democratically elected government and are imposing martial law, so its not OK.

Given we, The Good Guys, also do that stuff all the time and will do it again, I'm less interested in whether it is "ok" and more interested in whether it will work or not.

I have no idea if it will, but that Syrian dude has some really interesting and informed takes, certainly worth listening to.
